  • Often, usually at the end of the interview itself, you're asked if there's anything you want to ask the interviewers. It's a good idea to have something prepared, not the obvious or what you'll have already been told or experienced, but something that shows you have a real interest in the post or some aspect of it.

    Lots of luck from me, too !

    This is very true about questions at the end, so often people have no idea and just burble, '....er....no'. Far better to be prepared with something.

    In a different context, DD1 had a compulsory year out of her uni studies (health reasons) and was interviewed to see if they would let her back. OH and I thought up all the awkward questions we could think of, and 'grilled' her with them. She was SO well-prepared !
    Preparation is always worth it.
  • Thank you Elizabeth :). Yes I definitely need to think of some questions to ask. I think after the trial tomorrow I'll know more about what the job involves and in the afternoon I can think up some killer questions that I can ask and that they might ask me, ready for the next day. I'll try to think up some really difficult questions that they might ask me and then think of some good answers for them :).

    Every post I read where someone's wishing you good luck with your trial always makes me smile. Sounds like you're going to court:eek:

    Having had your work experience (rather than 'trial' !), your question at the end, if asked, might be on the lines of:

    'Yesterday I noticed....(some little incident) and I was wondering what your policy was on this ?'

    or :
    'If (some fairly likely, but awkward scenario which you have not experienced yet) occurs, what would be the best way of dealing with it ?'

    It might be how to deal with children who have someone with them, like a carer, at all times, or the policy on reporting violent incidents (if only they never occurred at this stage).

    Just shows you are thinking of the ramifications of the job.
    And they are likely to ask you, 'What would you do if.......?;
  • Just scurrying in at the end of the conversations as usual!:D

    But I'm so pleased to here of your job interview!:j. Not much I could've added here to all the wonderful advice you've had as I haven't had an actual job interview since what seems like the end of the Boar War!

    And good luck at the trial!

  • If you can't think of anything else, 'what do you have planned for the induction process' is useful as it encourages them to visualise you in the role, and should give you a better idea of how much thought they have put into the role.

    It does sound like a court trial or a witch's trial :eek:. I should call it a try out or an audition instead :rotfl:.

    Thanks SSG. I haven't had an interview since the Boer War either :rotfl: but I'm more nervous about the trial as I've literally never had one of those before :eek:.
