Really pleased for you! Hope they don't take as long to let you know you have been successful!!
I am wishing you all the luck in the world but I know you won't need it!

Well done on getting an interview, that's quite an achievement in itself these days.
You're right about getting a foot in the door. I've seen lunchtime supervisors end up in classrooms working full time because they've proved themselves to be the right calibre of person for what's required. It's not easy getting into schools but once you're in it's surprising what roles you can be asked to take on.
Fingers crossed it all goes well for you. xx0 -
Good luck for tomorrow and Friday HH

As it's in the school where you already volunteer you'll probably know whoever it is that's interviewing you. Far less scary than a panel of total strangers:j
Wishing you all the luck in the world:beer:. Not that you'll need any luck though as if they know you already they'll be fully aware of what an asset you are to the school.
By the way. when I was a School Governor and on interviewing panels (for teachers anyway) we always made sure the unsuccessful applicants were given a debrief and reasons why they were unsuccessful. It was the part of the role I least enjoyed but we always tried to make it as positive as possible for the applicants and in many cases the person who was given the post only 'won' by a whisker. On a different day they might well have been successful. The unsuccessful applicants could always take positives forward to their next interview and if there were any minor problems they'd know to be aware of them for next time.
I'm not mentioning the above because I think you'll be unsuccessful but just in case you are (for a multitude of reasons totally unconnected to you or your admirable qualities:A) it might be worth your while to ask why you were unsuccessful. It can't be an easy thing to do but it might stand you in very good stead for your next interview seeing as it's such a long time since you had one.
Often, usually at the end of the interview itself, you're asked if there's anything you want to ask the interviewers. It's a good idea to have something prepared, not the obvious or what you'll have already been told or experienced, but something that shows you have a real interest in the post or some aspect of it.
Thank you Carboot that's good advice
. It's helpful that the trial is first because that will give me a good idea of the duties and will help me to think of questions to ask

. It is hard to get a job in a school and I know that there are other applicants, so I'm not expecting to get the job, but I would be delighted if I did, because as you say it's a foot in the door. And I could keep doing my volunteering in the mornings and my course (hopefully). Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Stepdad is unwell today so DH and I did the food shop this morning. Partly as a result of this there was an overspend, what is it about other halves making us spend more . The total spend was £93.08  which is far higher than it should be.
However, we are well stocked up with certain items. I have to confess that £12 of our overspend was on 48 cans of Pepsi Max for me
, but it was reduced from £8 for 24, to £6 for 24. I got two packs so that should last me ages :T.
We also spent £4 on 1kg of frozen minced beef, but I've divided it into four packs for the freezer so that should make four meals. We got Mr T vegemince too which was £4 for three 450g packs, which I thought was good value, so that will make several meals.
We also got some frozen chicken breast filllets which were about £3.50 for the pack because DH said he's fed up with eating beans. What's wrong with beans? :rotfl:
We picked up some multivitamins because I think we need them to give us more energy and ward off colds. It was three for two so three bottles cost us £4.
DH also wanted to get a pyrex measuring jug because all the numbers have washed off our current one so it's impossible to measure liquids, so that was another £4.
Apart from that it was the usual spends. Hopefully next week I can get it down to a more normal price because we can't keep spending that much
