So am I, Elizabeth:j.0 -
Maybe I should dip my toe into ebay selliing once my cold is better.
We gave money to DS3 to buy trainers ages ago and he bought the wrong size but wore them a few times so they couldn't be returned . They are practically brand new so maybe I should try and sell those.
I also have a wool suit I've never worn (expensive mistake from years ago ) that maybe I could try selling on ebay. And I have a suede jacket I've only worn once (another expensive mistake from about ten years ago ).
I know some people on here have had success selling so I should give it a go. I'm very unproactive about things like that and I don't know why. I must force myself to give it a go. Are the first few listing free does anyone know?
But first I'm going to do the PPI claims! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hello HHD, hope you don't mind me butting in, I've been reading your posts around how you feel about the possibility that your stepdad might have a new relationship. I saw in one of your posts today that you said 'but I just want my mum back...' and I feel this is at the heart of it, you are still grieving deeply for your mum and that nothing can bring her back. Also no one can replace her either in your life or your stepdad's and as others have said it may be companionship he is seeking. My OH died just over a year ago and I know its having someone to share things with that I miss the most after 40+ years together.
I hope you are able to meet your stepdad for coffee and get some resolution to your concerns. Not sure if my ramblings make sense so will stop there.1 -

Love your account of your Lucky Dip Tea dilemma:rotfl:
I have a tea dilemma myself at the moment but of a different kind to yours. Last Summer a friend gave me a huge bag full of weird and wonderful Twinings herbal and fruit teas. She was given a massive glass storage jar full of assorted teas as a gift. Not liking any kind of tea except standard Tetley's, wanting to empty the jar and use it and knowing I'm a tea addict she gave them all to me. To be honest there aren't all that many 'non standard' teas I like with Camomile; Mint; Ginger&Lemon and a few others being the only ones. This selection contains flavours like Intensely Liquorice & Mint; Ginger Bread Green Tea; Turkish Apple Tea; Cherry Bakewell Green Tea; Salted Caramel Green Tea; Intensely Beetroot Burst ; China Rose and many others:eek:. The Liquorice & Mint is quite nice but the others that I've tried are definitely an acquired taste:rotfl:.
They're in individual named packets, several of each flavour, and have tags and in theory should be really useful but I've put them in a glass jar of my own and the number of packets in there never seems to go down despite me having them for months. I keep reminding OH to have one whenever he wants a hot drink but doesn't really fancy tea or coffee. He rarely takes one out though as he's only been able to drink a couple of mouthfuls of each of the ones he's tried so far:(.0 -

Thank you Teapot2. I think I understand what you're saying. You're saying that stepdad is not trying to replace my mum, but to find companionship to help him cope with the loneliness? My mum and stepdad were together for over 40 years so I can understand that the loneliness must seem unbearable.
Maybe I should invite his ladyfriend too next time he comes to us for dinner. I don't know, I'd have to think about it. I haven't really had time to get used to it. I don't even know for sure yet if it has become romantic, so I don't really know what to think. I'll see what develops.
Thank you for your input. I am very grateful for everyone's perspective on this.
I'm sorry about your OH, it must be very hard for you.

Thank you Beanie. I know DS1 is 25 so not a child, and he is very good and would not mind at all. But I would only want to do that as a last resort. He would hate the broadband to be cut off so would happily loan us money to pay for that :rotfl: but hopefully it won't come to that.
DH is sometimes good at making a sale when we are really up against it. I suppose adrenaline kicks in and makes him more creative or more proactive or something. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Aha another person with a tea dilemma :rotfl:.
If you're not massively keen on the teas can you package them up in a nice gift basket (that you already have hopefully) and give them to someone as a birthday present? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
