  • I slept well because I was very tired.

I have volunteering (I should call it work experience really because that's the main reason I'm doing it) today which is good as it will take my mind off things.

I hope the weather is better than yesterday .

Enjoy the volunteering/work experience. I bet the school is looking really Christmassy by now. There's nothing as nice as decorations made by young children to show the real spirit of Christmas:)
  • Enjoy volunteering. I bet the children are getting really excited for Christmas now! I know mine is. x

Hairy,I hope you don't mind me asking but how far out are you from Exeter,I'm interested because of the difference in our weather, I noticed in one of your posts that you haven't had any frost yet,we have had a few frosty days in my corner of Devon, today it's grey and miserable but not raining yet but it looks like it might any minute,it always strikes me as funny how variable our weather can be just in one county

I'm another one who doesn't know how you do it, when my boiler was condemned several years ago now I was without heating for three weeks in January and it was really miserable,I actually thought I was going to die from hypothermia one night:eek:it gave me a new appreciation for trying not to take things for granted and I really felt for all the homeless people in town in that weather

I know what you mean about putting up the decorations,I find it a chore but me and DD have a glass of three of something sparkly to get us in the festive spirit and it seems to help :rotfl:

Well done Mr T on letting you exchange the whiskey set, your DS obviously has more willpower than me...whiskey doesn't last long in this house :rotfl:

Thanks :).There aren't any decorations up in the classroom yet, but they have got out the classroom tree so it may be up when I go next week.

Thanks :).The children are excited, partly because they've been rehearsing for their Christmas play :).

It was dark with misty light rain here this morning and it's still very damp out there. The children still went out to play though luckily :).

I'm about forty minutes from you OBL. But my area is fairly central, once it snowed on the outskirts but not where I live, it was very strange. :rotfl:. You may be more on the outskirts where it gets a bit colder. Devon is such a huge county.

Also DH and I don't feel the cold as much as some people, plus we live in a terrace so can benefit from our neighbours' heating ;).

I can just imagine you and DD drunk in charge of a Christmas tree :rotfl:.

DS2 has immense will power. So does DS1 who can make one bar of chocolate last a week!

  • A week? Ten minutes is about as much as I can make chocolate last. Although I haven't had any for quite a few weeks now!!

  • I enjoyed volunteering, although it was a bit of a strange morning as the children kept disappearing to rehearse for their play and were watching a film inbetween, but I did some filing for the TA and heard readers.

This afternoon I've put some laundry on to wash as I'm very behind with that! I also need to get the wreath on the front door, put the dishwasher on, empty the bins, and if I have time, clean the cooker.

I don't think I'm going to get any Christmas cards written today.

I was going to rest but I feel much better after a good sleep, so I don't need to :).
