  • The weather is awful here, misty, dark and sideways rain .

Mr T let me change the whisky gift set without a receipt, so I swopped it for 24 diet Pepsis (£5 reduced from £8) and a bottle of mulled wine (£2.75 reduced from £3.50) and she even gave me the 25p left over :T.

My weekly food shop came to £64.41 but I got £4 off with the voucher my sister sent me, so actually spent £60.41 :money:. Then I got printer paper for £2.75 and some Christmas goodies (12 mince pies, 8 reindeer cakes and two large packs of crisps) for £6.50.

DH thinks he has found a way to get the information into a spreadsheet without me printing each individual statement. He's emailed the spreadsheet to the accountants, so hopefully that will be good enough.

In a minute I'm going to finish putting up the Christmas decorations and then pack away the empty boxes, as we have stuff everywhere at the moment and it's driving me to distraction .

I'll be glad when this gloomy weather improves :(.

Gloomy here too. Lights on. Damp and cold too. Horrible, but I must go out after work and by then it will be all of the above plus dark :(
You do well with your food shop and the Christmas treats. :)

    :(.

You seem to have done very well with this week's purchases. How nice that they let you change the whisky set.

We also have boxes everywhere! Tramadol yesterday helped me get them downstairs. Tramadol today got me making a cake (postponed from several days ago!), and hopefully out to the P.O.

At long last I have a date for treatment. Having accepted that I was somehow dropped out of the system, I can now look forward to 9th January. I look at your amazing step count, HH, and I should think I do a couple of hundred on a good day! It would be lovely to feel something approaching normal again. I've been re-watching the TV series 'House', and I understand so much more about pain, pain-killers, and frustration. The scriptwriters really knew what they were talking about.

It's dark & dismal here, too. OH is out looking at trains, so not here to complain about excessive use of lights. I think he was a mole in a former life - hardly seems to need any light.
  • Thanks DIA :). I don't know if I'll want the mulled wine as I haven't had alcohol since my mum died, but I've got it just in case.

Thank you, yes it was a relief not to feel I'd wasted £8 on the whisky set :).

I'm glad you've finally got an appointment for treatment. What a shame you dropped off the system. I hope the Tramadol is effective. They gave me one box of it after my appendicitus. I've never actually watched House so I probably should :).

My stepdad is also like a mole. I find gloomy weather can affect my mood. The Christmas lights should help hopefully.

  • Sounds like a very successful day, HH. Whiskey set, accounts situation and Christmas bargains all sorted:j.

Once you've finished the decorations and put the boxes away see if you can have a sit down and a bit of 'you' time. You've earned it:beer:.
  • Chopping up apricots, glace cherries and peel for the afore-mentioned cake last night, I thought I felt a bit of extra resistance - and, I'd snipped off a very thin slice from my ring finger !!! Of course it bled profusely, as such things do, totally out of proportion to the damage done. After running it under the cold tap, I wrapped a tissue round it, cling-filmed it together, added a rubber band for good measure, and avoided leaving red marks on the bedding.
But - - where is that tiny fragment of skin ? Do I want to know, and, more importantly, knowing OH's gift for somehow getting the fishbone/hair/bug etc when no-one else has any, should I tell him ?

    Maybe best not tell him!

Oh, Elizabeth, poor you. Sounds a horrible experience but your DIY dressing sounds very resourceful:T I hope it isn't too painful now but it's bound to be really inconvenient,

I know what you mean about the profuse bleeding. My cousin once had a go at trimming my hair and accidentally nicked my ear. The amount of blood from what turned out to be a tiny nick was unbelievable. My Mum, squeamish at the best of times, daren't inspect the damage as she was sure I would be permanently disfigured:eek:. Apparently ears do bleed a lot. Paper cuts are a bore too IMO as they don't bleed exactly but hurt out of all proportion to the size and depth of them.

As for telling OH of what may or may not lie in store for him in the cake, that's a tricky one. Is anyone else likely to be eating any of this cake? Maybe you should issue a general alert before anyone takes a bite:eek:
