  • I've just registered for TNS postal surveys, so hopefully I'll earn some stamps that way soon. That would help with posting cards etc.

Can anyone recommend any other survey sites that don't screen you out continually?

Do you do Pinecone? They never screen out and only send survey invitations to people who are eligible. Surveys are few and far between but pay £3 per survey, usually on new products that are being trialled. The members who've been with them forever, like me, still get paid at the original £4 a survey rate:j. Cash out can be to Paypal. I've also had products from them to test (snacks, soup, loo roll, shampoo etc mainly) and report back on. Problem is they don't recruit very often, you normally have to look for a banner or link to know when they are.
  • I don't blame you for passing on the turkey plucking Carboot  it sounds awful .

I could look out for seasonal jobs but I wouldn't want to work on Christmas day or boxing day. I know you may think I can't afford to be fussy, but Christmas will be hard enough for DH and the DC this year without my mum, and if I'm at work on Christmas day then that would make Christmas even more depressing :(.

I've lost my confidence when it comes to applying for jobs, that's the trouble. In my day you looked for adverts in the paper or sent employers your cv on spec. Now it's all done online and through agencies. Even for seasonal work they seem to want you to have experience. DS3 lost his bar job because the new manager only wanted to keep the experienced staff.

I'm probably just making excuses, but I think the only job my mental health could cope with at the moment is working with children, because I enjoy that and have experience in it :o. Plus I wouldn't have to work on Christmas day and ruin Christmas for the family.

I don't do Pinecone but I wish I did. At the moment I only do YG and PA, plus the new postal survey thing I've just signed up for.

  • DH and I did the weekly food shop this morning, or at least I did while DH worked in the cafe. It came in under budget at £58 so I'm pleased with that :). We've done it a day early so it will need to last eight days instead of seven.

OnePoll rarely screens out, but like PA, you have to keep going on the site. They pay 5p (single-question) up to occasionally 75p per survey and there are several per day. But if you wait till the end of the day they disappear as presumably they're filled. (30p earned today).

GlobalTestmarket send you emails, screenouts occasionally, exchange points for Amazon vouchers.

Shop'nScan and Nielsen reward you for scanning all your shopping (mainly groceries) with a handheld barcode scanner. ShopnScan pay 1100 points per week (=£1.10, exchangeable for Amazon vouchers), more if you can scan in your till receipt. Nielsen you get points for 'things', but you go into a monthly draw and in 2016 I won £1000 !

I do Test Posting for Royal Mail via Kantar, too. I save the stamps for Xmas so all my cards go first class. You also get a book of the big-format stamps, which I don't use but I suspect would have a business use for you and DH.

    Thanks Carboot :).

  • I do Swagbucks and have accounts in my name and my DH’s although he never does it so I do. It does screen out quite a bit but there are other ways of saving points (swagbucks) and payouts can be in vouchers like M&S or PayPal.

  • I've joined OnePoll and earned £4.20 already by doing some initial surveys. I need to get up to £30 to cash out but it's a start :).
