  • Thanks Sally. I tried Swagbucks once but it drove me potty because I got screened out every single time . I seem to be the wrong demographic for them, probably because I rarely go anywhere, do anything or buy anything :o.

What kind of bulbs do you use? I need light & have found that it is much better if I use cool white rather than warm white. Not in a bedroom obviously. Also DS1 might find the light from those of more use to him. The new bulbs may cost a little more but last a lot longer & use a lot less energy. In my bedroom I have a cool white top light but a warm white bedside light, it has made a real difference.
  • We use low energy LEDS, where light fittings allow, which do give off a more whitish light I think.

  • We've got another payment which has covered another NPow3r payment and most of the mortgage :T. We just need to bring in another £100 so we have a complete mortgage payment. Not much left over though.

I think I've realised why our electricity payments may have gone up a bit. The normal cycle on our washing machine is three hours. We used to put everything on a quick wash which took an hour and a half. But then I read somewhere that a quick wash doesn't clean the clothes properly, so since then I've been using the full three hour wash. But I've just realised that the full wash will be using more electricity  Doh  I can't believe I've only just thought of this, what an idiot :o. So I'm going to go back to using the quick wash. It's not like our clothes are covered in mud, they're only lightly soiled.

  • So pleased you’ve had a payment in :T.

I do PopulusLive surveys. They are usually £1 for 5 minutes, £2 for ten minutes and £3 for 15 minute surveys. You have to wait for the emails like YouGov but they hardly ever screen you out. Payout is cheque at £50.

I also do Swagbucks (you can make sbs with daily codes, watching videos etc not just surveys), Valued Opinions and GlobalTestMarket.
    Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

  • Fabulous news about the payments. Someone was looking down on you.

Don’t knock yourself over the washing cycles but may I still ask - if I may be so rude and bold (Northerner!) - is it really that vital to do so many washes a week even for all of you? Could you not smell a little?!! Also a 30 degree quick full wash for me takes 30 minutes if that. We have no outdoor drying space and simply use an old clothes horse, doors, chairs etc to dry. I totally get hygiene is important but sometimes I think we get too carried away with washing stuff we’ve hardly worn - let alone sweated in.

Sorry if I’ve overstepped the boundaries but having dealt with debt and all that I do understand how difficult times are.

Do give Swagbucks another go. I was making at least £20 a month when times were dire and it really helped.

I'm not offended Sally :). Our washing machine is a bit rubbish and doesn't have a 30 minute wash unfortunately :(. I don't think I could manage without doing a daily wash as the laundry baskets are full all the time otherwise. I think I'd rather have no heating than smelly clothes :rotfl:. But using the quicker wash will save money I'm sure.
