It wasn't the cider. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell is a complex book and I would have thought almost impossible to film because of its structure. I didn't know a film existed, but judging by your reaction my initial thoughts are probably correct :rotfl:HairyHandofDartmoor wrote: »We had a late night last night because we were watching Cloud Atlas and it's the longest film in the world! I kept thinking it was about to finish, not realising it was three hours long . I still have no idea what the film is about :rotfl:. Maybe the cider didn't help .If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
Emergency fund 350/1000

I didn't get on with Cloud Atlas the book, haven't seen the film.
I've been reading a lot of Michael Connelly recently, I really like them. I'm also watching Bosch on Amazon Prime, it's really good, and I think Titus Welliver is a perfect Harry Bosch!
Hope the boiler is not too serious. We had a drip on ours and they just replaced a washer."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Socks, I have to plead guilty to insisting that DS1 only has plain black, and DS2 plain grey which makes it easier for matching and then I just buy them ten pairs at a time of the cheapo supermarket ones which are high cotton. Lazy but effective and economical.
Sounded like a busy day to me too ! I think you have higher standards than me, HHOH.
As for the socks, when hubby was working, and the elder daughter who has big feet was still at home (sorry, DD!), I got hubby lots of identical navy socks. Well if there is anything more soul-destroying than trying to match up 20 pairs of differently faded navy socks, I don't want to hear about it. After that, he had patterns.0 -

Another busy day today! I had a £5 haircut today at the hairdressing school and my hair looks much better, no more split ends :T. BUT they are closing at the end of July
Where will I get my hair cut from now on?
.
Then I walked home to get some exercise, had lunch, did some work and then went back out to get my eyes tested. I have a close family member with glaucoma so I need to get checked for it once a year. My eyes are fine luckily :T.
While I was in town I got a birthday cake for DS1 for tomorrow, a chocolate orange and matchmakers for £1 each (extra presents for DS1), plus more bananas. We've got his main presents already but I need to wrap them up tonight.
Then I bought myself a bra as I only had two which is nowhere near enough. It cost £20 which isn't too bad I thought. I'd like to pick up a fourth one soon so I have two black and two white ones, which should suit all my clothes.
I've done over 10,000 steps so far today, no wonder my feet are sore . Have a great day all

I'm very pale so flesh colour may not match my skin tone. I could try one on I guess to see.Go for a nice colour for a change
I like them to match my knickers which are mostly black and white atm. I'm very boring with my underwear
