Small gardens are good IMO:j. We have almost half an acre and neither of us are keen gardeners:rotfl:. We both like to encourage wildlife and don't use chemicals of any sort so you can probably imagine there are large areas of untended wilderness which are home to all sorts of creatures. OH says whenever he tries to move/cut/weed he disturbs some creature or another so he just leaves well alone.
The only halfway tidy bits are at the front (fortunately the smallest area:j) and wide border alongside the drive. It's a very long drive though so I have my work cut out:eek:. I do try to keep these areas looking reasonably OK but I really don't enjoy gardening at all:o. We don't want to lower the tone and house values in the village and tend to concentrate on the bits that are on view. OH keeps the hedges nicely trimmed though but it's hard work as they're high and he's a pensioner now. Our village regularly enters the Best Kept Village competition and often has an Open Gardens Day. No one has ever asked us to participate and throw our garden open to the public:o. Strange, that:rotfl:0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Half an acre is a lot to keep tidy. I think little and often is the key, half an hour a day say.
I'd rather have a big garden but we went for a bigger house instead. I like gardening but don't seem to get much time for it. When/if I retire I can see myself spending a lot more time in the garden. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

We went to the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery today amd met my parents, sister etc there. DH and I ate lunch in the car when we arrived :money: and then just bought a coffee inside.
It rained on and off but they have a nice shop, restaurant and a big glass house full of lovely plants, pots etc. During the dry bits we wandered around among the plants outside.
I was tempted to buy some bedding plants but decided I could get them cheaper elsewhere :money:. So a pleasant, restful and low cost excursion.
Now I need a restful evening as we have a busy schedule planned for tomorrow! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I'm very boring Redo and I love garden centres, NT places, etc, and always have done even when I was a teenager :rotfl:. I find wandering among lovely plants and scenery very soothing to my soul
