Thanks for asking, beanilou. I don't have one. I've thought of starting one but my life is so humdrum that I can't imagine anyone being interested enough to read it or subscribe to it:o

I just clutter up other people's diaries, like this one. Apologies to HH and others who I lumber with my ramblings:o

I hope you had a good evening with your sister and her DH, HH:beer:. It's always lovely to enjoy a home-cooked meal with family or friends IMO:j

I'm a bit anxious about OH's health at the moment. He has a long-standing thyroid condition for which he has to take lifelong medication and as a result has blood tests every 6 months to monitor the dosage. Because of all the recent talk and publicity about prostate cancer (and the fact that OH is always moaning about having to go to the loo very frequently these days:eek:) I bullied him into seeing his GP for a prostate test. He had the manual investigation done:eek: and the Doc said his prostate was slightly enlarged but nothing unexpected for someone of his age. The Doc also asked the Practice Nurse to do a blood test to double-check.

Someone from the Surgery phoned OH yesterday to say his results for that were fine:j but the other blood tests they did at the time show he is pre-diabetic. He has so many blood tests for the thyroid condition that I'm surprised this wasn't flagged up sooner, especially as he had the last tests only 6 weeks ago when they tested for everything! Unless, of course, it's a very recent development but I can't see why as he hasn't been binging on Easter eggs:rotfl:

I'm not too worried about the pre-diabetes diagnosis as such as I know it's usually a wake up call to change habits but I can't see why he is in this category. He isn't obese or even very overweight. I'd say he could afford to maybe lose half a stone but who couldn't? He does a fair amount of exercise by walking and cycling, hardly ever drinks, eats all the right things. That's why I'm a bit anxious as I can't imagine what else he can do to stop becoming fully diabetic.

I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here, he still has to see the Practice Nurse next week so maybe she'll give him some tips. He's just hoping it won't mean any more pills. He takes so many for various things that he rattles when he walks:eek:

It's great that his prostate is fine :T. The doctor will want to talk to your OH about his diet, etc, as something is causing his blood sugar to be raised. It's possible he may have more sugar than he realises as it is added to so many things. It's good for you both to be aware of it before it develops into full blown diabetes.

I would try not to worry as I'm sure your surgery will give him advice to help lower his blood sugar :).

BIL is still having chemo with obvious side effects, but we don't know how effective the treatment is yet.

I've been too busy to update my diary .

I had a very busy but fun Tuesday! I did more tidying of the pig sty in the morning, followed by going to Costalot for latte (:j) with sister, her DH and parents. Poor DH had a meeting followed by training so couldn't come :(. Then everyone but my parents went for a long walk around the coast and the sun actually shone on us :T. Then we came back to our house and I cooked them a meal.

We had a great time but I was shattered by the evening and realised I'd done 18,000 steps, over seven miles and over fifty floors .

Wednesday was a working day, but we met at a lovely country pub for a meal in the evening to celebrate sister's birthday. I hadn't been there before but the food was lovely :).

Sister has flown home today and I will miss her but will see her again in July. She gave me some bedding plants as a present and my stepdad gave me a bag of potting compost , so I'm looking forward to planting those at the weekend :). Sister reckons L#dl and A#di do cheap bedding plants.

Today is a normal working day :( but DH and I went to Mr T for the weekly food shop. We overspent  but did get blades for DH (£8 ) and (half price) easter eggs for my two nephews.

DS3's passport came today which is good :T.

I hope everyone is having a good Thursday :).

Very, very belated birthday wishes Hairy - you sounded like you had a wonderful time with your family. It must be lovely to see your sister again.

You've been very busy though what with the cleaning and the gardening!

P.s. car boot - I would really interested to read your diary if you decide to start one. Good news too on your OH's prostate.
