Oh HHOD what a frustrating phone call. I always encourage my children to thank people but they are only young, your DS is 23!!! Im not surprised DS doesnt want to ring if this is what he is faced with.

Im still annoyed on your behalf about the party btw  xx

All this news of lost/deleted diaries is appalling. I always had total trust in MSE and felt this site was a safe and reliable place to be. Obviously not! Commiserations to anyone who has lost their diary:kisses3:

Funnily enough I was wondering whether to start a diary of my own after a few posters on ones I chat on have encouraged me to do it. I haven't yet mainly because, compared to everyone else whose diaries I read, like yours HH, my life is so humdrum:o. I'd hate to have no subscribers and be a Billy-no-mates (or whatever the female equivalent is:think:)

Your dad was in the wrong not you. Your DS should thank him when he next sees him but if he doesn't that's not down to you.

Thanks guys :). Glad it's not just me being over sensitive. I guess it may be due to his age a bit as he's in his eighties, but I always feel that he's never taken much interest in my kids. He and my stepmum always used to visit when they were at school and so only saw them after school when they were tired and grumpy :(.

Anyway I mustn't be negative and moany. I've had a good day overall :).

Nowt like a mood hoover to bring you down and question yourself. Based on your behaviours I cant imagine your boys being anything other than polite.

Thanks Redo. The DC are bad at texting and writing letters, but are polite when they see people face to face.

DS2 should say thank you but his issues make him have difficulty communicating with people, so I was hoping they would make allowances for that :o.

I have found it doesn't get any easier dealing with parents. I really envy those who have a good relationship.

You are right to focus on the good day rather than an unsatisfactory chat with your dad.

    Take care honey
