Have a very relaxing half term, your talks about NT properties brought back many happy memories of my childhood as that was my Mums favourite occupation on days out and holidays .... sadly I gave up my NT membership a few years ago as the properties are simply Not disabled friendly unlike Hampton Court and Chatsworth that have made the changes.....As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

We really enjoyed the NT visit on Monday 🙂 and were very lucky with the weather as we had a couple of heavy showers 🌧 ☔ but the rest of the time it was sunny spells ☀️. The autumn colours were lovely 🍂🍁 with some interesting paths to explore, although it was quite hilly in places, and it was just refreshing to go somewhere different for a change. We didn't go into the house or cafe, but braved the elements outdoors all afternoon. It was quite money saving 💷 as we took our own food and drinks. I bought my aunt a birthday present in the shop there but that was our only expenditure.
Yesterday was a houswork day. It was rainy all morning 💦 but I did two washes. I tumbled both of them as I'm very behind with the washing and haven't got time for them to spend days on the clothes horse. Mind you our tumbler is a bit useless and I still had to hang them on the clothes horses overnight, but at least they were only damp and are dry by this morning. Yesterday I also handwashed our Ch!llys bottles and some other things that can't go in the dishwasher, cleaned the bathroom and bleached the shower curtain. It's not completely clean as I only had a quarter of a bottle of bleach and I normally use a whole bottle of value bleach in a bucket of water to get all the mould off it, but I just soaked the mouldy bit at the bottom in the bucket with the bleach so most of the mould has gone. I did a bit of general tidying up around the house putting things where they are meant to be instead of lying around (DH is terrible for this, yesterday he left two pairs of shoes and his hat lying about in the living room 😡). I also ironed two winter skirts so that I can start wearing them. I was shattered after that but I blame all the hilly paths we walked around yesterday 🤣. I also spoke to my sister for nearly two hours on the phone after she finished work. It also stopped raining for long enough for DH and I to have coffee in the garden briefly ☕, although it wasn't very peaceful due to our neighbour yakking on her phone in her garden at the top of her lungs 🙄.
Today is mainly another housework day. The car has it's MOT at noon and I really hope that it passes 😕. We've already had to renew our road tax which was £168 for six months 😣. We also need to renew the car insurance in early November but the renewal quote is £245 so it could be a lot worse. But overall this is an expensive time of year for us with the road tax, MOT and car insurance all falling at around the same time 😣. I'm going to go with DH to collect the car and I'll pop into Mr M on the way home to buy a few things we've run out of. Apart from that I want to crack on with houswork, washing and ironing. I've already put a wash on and I want to do another wash today, fold up yesterday's washes and put them away, change our bedding, iron some school tops and hoover the lounge and hall. I'll see how much energy I have left after that.
I hope everyone in Diaryland is having a good Tuesday 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hope the MOT went ok x"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5
