Hi HHD
Glad you're enjoying your half term. We've been to the van for a couple of days and hardly managed a walk around the site because of the relentless rain, but a change of scene is always welcome. Hope the car passed it's MOT. Dare I ask what your plans are for Christmas with your DS coming home or haven't you given it any thought yet? xx

. The weather has been a bit grim. DS3 is coming home as far as I'm concerned, bringing him home is an essential journey. While he's here he always quarantines himself anyway!

The car cost £350 to get through the MOT which was very unwelcome news 😣. We may have to pay the car insurance monthly now instead of up front as we prefer to do, but we'll see.
On Thursday I met my niece for coffee in the morning ☕. The weather was bad 💦🌧 ☔ so we went into a coffee shop, but it was a big place the tables were well spaced out and we had to order from our table using an ap, so it seemed reasonably safe. We had a really good catch up for a couple of hours 🙂. I went to Mr M on the way home and in the afternoon helped DH do the dreaded VAT return 😟, at least it's done now anyway and we haven't paid a penalty for about 18 months I reckon 🙂.
Today we met aunt, uncle and my cousin at a NT place. It was raining 💦🌧☔ but the autumn colours looked lovely as we walked all around the gardens 🍂🍁 and I always like seeing family. We ended up going into the coffee shop ☕ after our walk as the weather was so awful, but we ate a picnic in our cars when we arrived so spending was minimal. I just bought my niece a birthday card in the shop apart from that. I did enjoy looking at the Christmas decorations in the shop 🎅 . As we were only out for a few hours I managed to do some washing and empty the kitchen bins.
I can't believe my half term is over 😥. It's gone really quickly. We've had rain every day except Monday but we've had some good autumn walks, seen some family members and I've caught up a bit more with the housework, washing and ironing. I certainly needed the break from school.
I've just seen that school staff can get 10% discount in Mr M between 2nd November and the beginning of January, so that will save me some money on food including the Christmas food shop 💷😀 .
I hope everyone is having a good Friday 🙂.

Boo to the MOT cost 👎 Good you can get the Mr M discount, it all helps 👍 I get discount at Mr M courtesy of DD working there, used to be 10% but convinced it’s gone down to more like 5%. I work as an essential worker for the very place that ultimately pays for schools and hospitals but this is never recognised.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Glad you managed to enjoy outdoor activities despite the weather.
I've managed a little bit of gardening in the drizzle today.
Have a good weekend. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
