Thanks everyone 🙂.
This is my third day back at school but my first day with all the children 😱. We had two days of training in new covid related ways of doing things and also on a new reading book system. I only got paid for half a day as I didn't get paid for the TA part of the training (no funding) 😥 but I'm building up brownie points I suppose.
Today was my first lunch session with the children. We had a few teething problems and half the children were thirty minutes late for afternoon lessons 😱😱😱 due to an unsuitable system, but based on our feedback they're going to change things tomorrow which should speed it up. I feel slightly shattered and I've only done lunchtime. I dread to think how'll I'll feel tomorrow after doing a full day of TA cover too 😟 . I don't know any of my lunchtime class yet so I need to learn their names and what they look like (well I learnt two names today as there are always a few of children who stand out for various reasons), hopefully after tomorrow I'll know a few more names and faces. I was given a visor to wear in the canteen if I wanted, as we can't take the children's plates away if we're two metres away from them! The visor made me feel a bit hot and I didn't feel I could see as clearly but I think I should try to wear it as DH has diabetes.
It's been a bit drizzly and misty all day which seemed a shame (but typical) for the children's first day back at school.
I'll feel better once this week is over as I'll have worked two lunchtime sessions and one full day in the classroom with the new class of children and the new covid systems, so I'll have more idea of what I'm supposed to be doing, I hope 🤣 .
The aerial man came this morning to take down our rusty wonky aerial. I feel relieved that it's gone but I thought £90 seemed quite a lot to charge, especially as he didn't take the old aerial away with him 🤔. I'm glad to get it off the roof anyway as it was an eyesore and looked dangerous.
DH had a telephone appointment yesterday with the nurse practictioner as he's got a very painful hip. The nurse said it sounded like bursitis but she said he could have an x-ray as a precaution if he wanted. He's supposed to ring the hospital today to ask for an x-ray but hasn't yet so I need to make him do it. After BIL's painful hip turning out to be cancer 😥 I want to find out exactly what is going on with DH's hip. He's got some ibuprofen gel and co-codamol which helped him sleep better last night anyway.
On Saturday we're collecting DS3 to bring him home for two weeks (unless he changes his mind and he'd better not). I'm really looking forward to seeing him 😁.
I hope everyone in forumland is having a good Thursday 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Great to hear you'll soon be seeing DS3 - it's been a long time hasn't it ?7 -
Hi HHD
Glad you've got the first couple of days at school under your belt. I'm sure it will all get easier for everybody as time goes on. I can just about do an hour with a mask on when I'm out shopping so I really feel for people who have to wear them or visors for any length of time.
I'm torn on the £90 - on one hand it seems a lot to pay but on the other I wouldn't get on a roof for any amount of moneyAs everybody else has said, at least it's done and if it wasn't safe it's best off coming down.
I bet you can't wait to see DS3 can you. Am I right in thinking he's not been home at all since lock down was put in place? What a fantastic visit that's going to be for you allHave a lovely evening. xx

. It does seem a lot. I don't think I would use that company again, although they were very pleasant and professional.
We haven't seen DS3 since 15th January so it's a very long time. He didnt want to come home when lockdown started and then it didn't seem safe for him to come on a train and a coach, then he was moving house in August, then my sister was staying here, so finally I though of collecting him for a couple of weeks in early September. I'm determined never to go this long without seeing him again.

Great news that you will be able to see DS3 soon too"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5
