Thank you everyone 🙂.
I had a really good holiday. The house was really good, clean with excellent facilites and a beautiful country view from the back of the house. We went to two NT places and a museum with a lovely garden. On the journey home we stopped and climbed up Glastonbury Tor which we really enjoyed and it felt like an extra day's holiday. We had sunshine ☀️ for the first two days and although it rained 💧on the third day we still got out and enjoyed the day. On the journey home it was sunny ☀️ so we had glorious view from the top of Glastonbury Tor. It's our first family holiday for ten years which made it very special 🙂 and the only thing that stopped it being perfect was that DS3 wasn't there.
Our spending on holiday was fairly moderate. I made sandwiches every morning for picnic lunches and we took coffee/tea/water with us so we didn't have to buy any food or drinks. I cooked for two nights, we had a takeaway one night and went to my niece's house for a meal one night. It was a bonus of the holiday being able to visit one of my nieces and her DH in their new house as they live about half an hour away from our holiday house 🙂. We spent £30 to get in a museum and garden but as it was raining that day we had to do something and all our other activities were free.
I would have liked the holiday to last longer, but it was nice to come home and when I walked into the kitchen I thought what a nice garden we have now 🙂. Yesterday I unpacked, did washing and did a bit of pruning in the garden 🌱🌿 (I couldn't wait to get out there). I feel like the break did us all good and I'll have really happy memories of it 😁.
I rang an aeriel company yesterday as we noticed our tv aeriel is at right angles instead of upright and were afraid it would fall off the roof and hurt someone 😱. The aerial man popped in and looked at it and said it wouldn't fall to the ground as it was light and the tv cable was strong, so that put my mind at rest. He's going to come back on Tuesday and take it down for £90 (inc vat). He quoted £175 to put a new aerial in but as we always watch interent tv it didn't seem worth spending the extra money.
Today I had to go to Mr M and buy a week's food. After that we bought some paint for the shed as we need to weatherproof it before the winter. We could have gone for transparant but we chose R0nse@l sage colour as we thought it would blend into the garden nicely. If we like it we may paint the back gate and fence that colour at some point. I did lots of weeding, deadheading and sweeping up in the garden this afternoon. I felt much happier when I was out in the garden as I love pottering about out there 🌿🌱⚘🌺.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi HHD
Welcome back, I've missed you writing even though you've only been gone a few days. Sounds like you had a lovely holiday and what a bonus coming home to a garden that looks gorgeous. How is your sister doing and are you still trying to get together. I think there was some problem with travel due to Covid but has that changed yet? Have a lovely day. xx
