Thanks everyone 🙂. I'm sorry I've been awol for a bit. I seem to have been so busy this holiday.
After the Somerset holiday I was busy gardening and tidying/cleaning the house ready for my sister's visit. I've really enjoyed having her to stay (she slept in DS3's room) and we've had some lovely days out with her, aunt and uncle and my niece who lives locally. DS1 and DS2 came with us on one of the day out which made me happy. We had a fantastic walk along a coastal path and then sat by the beach and talked for three hours in the sunshine 🙂. Then we had a really good walk on Dartmoor with my niece and sat in deck chairs and chatted for ages afterwards 🙂.
My sister has gone to stay with stepdad and wife for a few nights. We're meeting them this afternoon for a walk. She really misses her husband but did enjoy her visit and being able to talk everything over and see relatives here. I won't see my sister for the rest of her visit as I'm back at school tomorrow. I'll really miss her as it may be Easter before I see her again and I feel quite sad about that 😒.
I'm not looking forward to going back to school as I've had a really nice summer ☹. I'll probably be all right when I get there and I need to earn money as the recession is bound to affect DH's income, but I'm slightly dreading going back after six weeks off. It will all be different because of the virus precautions and the job is gruelling at the best of times, so I don't know what it will be like. I have a full day of training tomorrow, half for the TA cover and half for my MTA job. I'd better take notes as it will be a lot to remember and I expect I'll feel very tired afterwards.
Anyway at least I'll see my sister again briefly this afternoon for a walk. We've had beautiful sunny weather for the weekend and today ☀️.
I everyone in Forumland is okay and I'll try and catch up with people's diaries over the next few weeks. Sorry I've been awol for a bit. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi HHD
Glad your sister managed to visit you all. I used to like the start of a new school year, it always felt a bit like New Year's Day - a fresh start and all that, not that the feeling lasted very long
I'm sure you'll be fine once you get back into the swing of things and although I expect the children will take some time to settle after being away for so long, I bet they're all excited to get back so they can see their friends and teachers again. Have a lovely day. xx

It sounds like family are doing their best to help your sister - as you know only too well, it can take a long time to adjust.
I hope the 'back to school' is not as taxing as you fear, and that getting back into a routine suits pupils and teachers alike.7 -
