elizabethhull said:Very exciting Sunday - we had DS2 and DGS round for the afternoon, first time we've seen them in the flesh for so many weeks. I hated not hugging them, though
And it was ME who hit a ball over the fence into next-door's garden - couldn't blame DGS for that !!
DH bought 2 face masks from the chemist on Monday, and I bought 2 a while back from the lady/company in town who does alterations - a wonderful re-purposing of all their off-cuts.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I will be going for cloth face masks with a filter. I'm using decorating ones at the minute but I need to go online and see what is out there. Face masks are going to be the new normal so despite hating them I will stock up ...
Have a good daySun_Addict said:One of our local shops is on the brink of re-opening and they've been advertising washable face masks in all sorts of weird and wonderful patterns, animal ones and everything. If we've got to wear them might as well make them fun or stylish 😁 Meanwhile I'm just putting off the day I have to go somewhere to need to wear one.Nicnak said:I don't have a mask at all. Thinking I might need to get one though, just in case xBubblesmum said:I was given one via a teacher friend whose school was given several by a local sewing group. I look like a ninja as it has the matching hair band with buttons to protect the ears.
OH bought his from a family member, who is making them, diverted from her normal sewing business. Trying to support the self employed rather than big businesses
both have filters and I will wash and change them every time they are worn, that being said we are still avoiding going out shopping etc
I think we may have to wear masks in some places, so it's a good idea to get comfortable ones that we like. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I haven't done much the last few days except go to school which I've been enjoying. It was a bit showery today but I managed to dodge the rain at lunchtime.
Good news is that our builder rang me this morning and said he could come and measure up today and do our fences tomorrow, before they start a big job the next day 😃. I said yes as I'm longing ot have them done. I'm at school all day tomorrow but when I get home I'm hoping the fences will be up 😁. DH pulled down all of the old trellis and dead hedge and it looks very bare and overlooked at the moment.
I hope everyone is having a good week 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

It's lovely getting house & garden repairs/projects done, HHoD. I expect your new fencing will make all the difference. Lots of our home improvements we're gradually getting done this year (held up by Covid & nesting jackdaws) really have needed doing for ages, so it will be lovely when it is all done & we can cross things off the list.
I have worn one of my home made masks out & about 3 or 4 times now & they do take some getting used to, but they are made from cotton so are not uncomfortable. I've been cutting a double thickness of freezer bag to insert in the middle pocket as I think I find that more flexible & less stiff than coffee filter papers. Mr F has been wearing them too - I wondered if he would, but he has been quite sensible. He will have a visor at work (he is back at work most days now, but not yet with the public) which I was pleased to hear, as he does sometimes need to deal with episodes of anti-social behaviour & I was worried about idiots spitting & the like. Hopefully this won't happen. I know from when I was working before my VR, that anti-social behaviour often escalates because it isn't dealt with early on, so it's already out of hand by the time anybody is fetched to sort it out.
Well, the rain is hammering on the windows again. I am going to go & switch the fairy lights on for a bit of cheer.

I'm glad you and Mr F have been wearing your masks. My two from Etsy arrived today but I haven't tried them on yet. The freezer bag idea is brilliant so I'm going to copy that .Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
