Sorry you’re hours aren’t as you expected Hairy. But it is good to be asked - I’m guessing they’ll be calling on you again as I suspect folk might be getting texts to isolate if they’ve been in contact with the virus out of school ( I know school will shut classes if there’s an outbreak in a bubble) you could well end up going in for more hours.
SSG2 please carry on posting on my diary- I’ll miss you.January spends - £587.585 -
Hi HHD
Shame about the hours at school but as others have said I'm sure once they're properly sorted out there might be some extra sessions available. I hope not getting as much work doesn't impact too much on your financial projections though or cause you too much worry.
I think we're all fed up, hot and bothered at the moment and things so often come across the wrong way when they're not said in person but I've never found you to take offence at a difference of opinion or questions asked so I hope everybody carries on commenting as usual.
Hope you're all enjoying the weather and your husband and DS's are still sometimes joining you on your walks, which I know you love them to do. Have a good day. xx

I had an enjoyable day at school yesterday 🙂 although came home exhausted and with sore feet. I kept a safe distance from everyone and did my usual de-contamination measures when I got home. One boy had his shoelaces undone all day as staff are not allowed to get close enough to tie them for him. Six year olds should not have shoelaces. I had to clean all the desks, chairs and pencil baskets after the children had gone home for the day and there are no longer any toys in the classroom as they would take too long too clean, so I don't know what will happen if we have wet playtime 😱. Someone came round at lunchtime too and cleaned all the desks, chairs, door handles, etc, but doors and windows are kept open as much as possible so people don't have to touch them. The children seemed happy enough though (apart from one boy who asked frequently when it was home time 😂). We started off with Jo Wick, they also did lots of exercise at break and lunchtime too so they were falling asleep by the afternoon 🤣.
Today I only have to go in for my lunchtime job thank goodness as it will give me time to recover from yesterday. It's about four degrees cooler and a bit showery 🌧. I hope it's dry at lunchtime or I might have to read them a story for an hour as we have no toys in the classroom . Or I could give them more exercise to do 🤸♂️.
Being busy has stopped my feeling sad and anxious about things anyway.
I definitely think we're spending less generally at the moment, (apart from more money on food) and our gas/electricity bills have gone down (although I think that's due to prices going down as our usage is fairly consistent). Not being able to browse the shops removes a lot of temptation and not being able to pop out for coffee saves money too. Also as our income feels very uncertain at the moment I don't feel like spending money on non-essentials 💷.
I hope everyone has a good Wednesday 🙂.

I've been thinking about my future today and I'm going to start applying for jobs in the summer holidays as I'll have my Level 3 by then. I'll stay at this school doing my lunchtime job and doing any cover that may come up, but I'll start applying for jobs at other schools as and when they come up. I don't know how long it will take or how often suitable jobs may come up, but I'll just keep on applying until I hopefully get one. In the meantime I'll be building up my experience at my current school. That's my plan.
As SA says, always good to have a plan, but with flexibility built in !. My tutor has sent me a plan for the telephone discussion and I need to get hold of maths and english lesson plans from school as part of it, so I need to let her know when I'm free for the discussion. I'm thinking perhaps next week as then I'll have time to revise for it.

. I've still got two day of cover a week and yesterday I was asked to do Monday too, but some of the other staff think she may have got in a muddle with timetable so I'll have to wait and see. It would be good to have three days but I've decided to be laid back about the whole thing

Are you enjoying your coffee machine?I just got a really old one from a friend. It came with some capsules. Choca something or another. They are ok. Don’t think I would buy any though. It is very noisy. Maybe as it’s very old?I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I think we will be able to manage to limp through financially until August and then DH can apply for another self employment grant as they have now extended the scheme for one last time. Yes I think the school situatioon is quite fluid still.
I'm managing to drag DH out once or twice a week for a walk. I want to persuade him to walk to meet me from school once or twice a week now I'll be too busy to go to the park. Although I want to drag him out for a walk at the weekend. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
