Hi HHD
Really hope things continue as normal for as long as possible at school especially if DH's business is a little slow at the moment. Not getting paid on top of everything else must be a worry for a lot of people and although it's easy to say don't worry, it's hard not to at times isn't is. Fingers crossed you remain cold free for a few weeks. Just 4 weeks until Easter Hols I think so hang in there
Look after yourself. xx

Thanks TF2
. It's actually only two and a half weeks for me until the Easter holidays, so not too long. I just hope the school opens after Easter.

You must break up earlier than us. 3.5 weeks here. Fingers crossed your cover continues."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

Blimey, need to check the school calendar. That's a lot sooner than I thought! xx5 -
Sorry to hear you've been poorly, HHoD. So many lergies going around & that's not counting this wretched new virus. Glad you were able to have some of your Mum's snowdrops. I think it will actually be easier once the house has sold, as you won't have to keep going there & confronting how it's all changed.
Take care now,

Glad you’re feeling better - there’s a really horrid head cold going around our school too. I’ve got it as have half the staff. I can understand why they close schools with the c.virus - bugs take on a life of their own once they enter the school doors. Worrying times but they are made worse by the media.....January spends - £587.584

Agree that the media is making us all panic a bit!
Closing schools seems like a very last resort to me and I can't see why they'll do it as children/young people are supposedly less susceptible to the virus anyway and if they should contract it the symptoms are likely to be less. I know the staff could catch it in an enclosed space like a school but it's true in any workplace. Are they planning to close every single large office or workplace with lots of employees?? ? My worry would be the knock on effect of all the schoolchildren at large for weeks on end as I don't suppose they'll stay at home in isolation all the time. At least in school their condition can be kept an eye on for much of the week. And as I heard on TV (a bit of relevant media reporting for a change) it may fall on Grandparents to 'mind' them if the parents' jobs are still ongoing and everyone knows the elderly are more vulnerable than most others in the population.
I had a Sainsburys grocery home delivery yesterday and was a bit concerned about 'signing' the electronic gadget to prove receipt. It's things like those that must be germ-harbourers, I wonder how many unwashed hands have touched those things! Likewise the self log-in touchscreen at our GP surgery. All those germy hands. EEEK! I must be getting paranoid because there isn't even a single diagnosed case in our county yet.
I hope you, HHOD, and all your contributors are staying lurgy-free5 -
I'm sure I heard something earlier today on the tv about letting all the fit children actually catch it as it would provide the "herd" protection. At least we haven't got to the stage Italy have where they are not going to treat people who need ICU treatment for anything if they are over a certain age! I thought they were supposed to respect their elders & criticised people in this country because we don't!
