Good news about DS. I expect the usual lurgies spread through campuses like wildfire and it IS normal flu season after all. Better to be safe than sorry though.
I've just been to our GP surgery to pick up DH's repeat prescription. They have their own dispensing pharmacy off the waiting room and as usual the place was packed with people coughing and sneezing into the air. I'm trying not to be paranoid about Coronavirus but it just goes to show that the advice to use tissues and discard and wash hands frequently etc is wasted on a lot of the general public (still thinking of the hygiene standards of Frenchmen and their undies!). People don't even seem to know the usual hygiene standards with regular coughs and colds! I wonder how often anyone sanitizes the self check-in touch screen in the waiting room, or the door handles for that matter. Can't find the 'old' eek smiley so please imagine a row of them here.
What a grumbler i am today. Sorry! I hope you're having a good sunny day, HHOD. Is your Burglar Bill outfit all ready for tomorrow?4 -
@milann @Sunshine-girl2 @teafor2 @Sunshine_girl2 @Delichon Thanks all of you
.
DS3 says he feels much better than yesterday which is good to hear. It is difficult not to be paranoid about people coughing and sneezing all over you, but you just have to hope your immune system can cope if you do catch it. Adults should know better, but the poor hygiene habits of small children has to be seen to be believed. I'm often sending children back into the toilets to wash their hands with soap and some of them wipe their noses on their sleeves 😱😱😱.
This morning I was at home so I cut some holes in an eye mask and sewed around the edges to make my Burglar Bill costume 🤣. At lunchtime we had wet playtime before and after the children ate their lunch so they were all a bit wild by then 🐵🐯😱. The afternoon was tiring too as I was helping two children to do some writing and one of them is a very tricky child and takes a lot of managing. I got a lot of work out of them both in the end though so I was pleased with that. I hope the weather will be better tomorrow as it's annoying to have the rain back again 😡☔💧.
By the way can any ebayers recommend a cheap courier? DS1 has sold something on ebay but has only charged £1 for postage 🙄 and the item is about the size of a shoebox (although very light). R0yal m@il would charge £4 for it which will eat into his profits, so I wondered if there is a cheaper way of posting it?
I hope everyone in Forumland is having a good Wednesday.

Hi Hairy, I am glad to hear DS3 is on the mend, how worrying for you though, there are so many lurgies going around at the moment and it not helped by the wet mild weather we have had, we need a really cold snap to kill off all the germs, both my DGC are poorly again with nasty colds and DGS2 came out in some suspicious spots yesterday,we couldn't decide if they were chicken pox or not, they were a bit weird but mainly on his face and one hand, DD said that no more have come out today but he is still poorly 😟 thank god for Calpol is all I can say 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945

Hi HHD
Glad to hear DS is on the mend. I think it's perfectly natural to worry especially when you can't see them for yourself and gauge how bad they are.
Bet you felt a real sense of achievement getting some work out of tricky child didn't you. We use Hermes for posting but from memory I think they are more expensive for smaller parcels than RM. Might be worth having a look though. I'm sure it's a mistake DS won't make again.
Hope you've had a lovely day and the weather has been better. The sun is shining here but it's cold. xx6 -
Glad DS is feeling better. I think the Corona Virus will be the first thing to spring to all our minds if anyone falls ill at the moment. I'll be glad when it's gone.
Hope you've enjoyed the World Book Day today, I bet it's great fun for the children
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
World book day certainly whips the excitement level up. We actually had ours yesterday as the teacher who organises it doesn’t work the latter part of the week. Great fun was had by all - we had a theme of adventurers so I borrowed a Captain Jack costume and went as a pirate. The wig amused some of the children as I have short hair. We had an awful lot of Harry Potters.Pleased to hear DS is feeling better. We have to remember all the usual ailments are out there too ,,,,but Corona isn’t far from anyone’s thoughts. I’m secretly hoping school shuts for 2 weeks....I can’t see it happening and I shouldn’t joke about it really 😋January spends - £587.585

With all the health scares around, DD1 sent the following:
