There's a further story about the Turkish waiter - DD's friend brought hers back with her, they got married, had 3 kids, then split up. At least DD didn't go down that route - phew!

    Phew indeed.

Why is it that bathrooms always seem to be the coldest room in the house when it is the one room where everyone lands up naked (or very smelly!)? I had this discussion almost 50 years ago with a centre heating person & didn't get a sensible answer then & haven't had one since.

Yes I agree, bathrooms really all always cold
Fingers crossed that the builder can find the problem quickly HHOD.

Your post about washing your hair with a jug made me laugh, that was me Thursday and Friday night :rotfl: xx

Our bathroom has always been freezing, I don't understand why . We have a radiator in there but it doesn't seem to give off much heat even if we bleed it

  • I heard from DS2. I asked him if he was having a nice day and he replied "I am." Now he's gone quiet again :rotfl:.

Thank goodness he's coming home on Tuesday, I can't wait to see him again even if he does make a mess in the kitchen :o.

  • DS2 only has one more day in New Orleans (when it's morning for him) and then he should begin the long journey home :).

I don't think I have ever felt this level of stress before over the period of a week and a half, and I'm used to stress :(. I must have woken up at least six times in the night to check for messages from him. We know more now about why he went and that has caused us additional stress :(.

All I want for Christmas now is for DS2 to be safely home :o. Am I being unreasonable if I hide his passport after this? :rotfl:

HHoD - I read your thread from start to finish yesterday! A huge well done to you in clearing your debt. We too were always in debt until about 15 years ago when we fortunately had an inheritance which enabled us to clear it all. We now have no debt at all.

I’ve got a biggish rad in my bathroom to warm the room and dry the towels but it still never seems as cosy as the other rooms!

Please try not to stress Hairy. He’ll be home soon - and the trip has probably helped his confidence in lots of ways. I hope the reason he went out is not going to turn problematic - you did originally refer to a business opportunity for him didn’t you?

  • Anyway, my way of dealing with stress is to post on here (it really helps) and to do my daily chores/work.

Today's chores are return 2 black shirts to Primani. The back story to this is that DS3 has a waiter try out out a restaurant tonight and needs a black shirt. They didn't have his size on Saturday, so I got two for him to try but they are both too big. So they need returning and a new one found before tonight.

In addition, i've realised that I wasn't given envelopes to go with the gift vouchers I bought from the garden centre yesterday, so I'll have to go back and ask for those .

Then there is laundry to be done and work, work, work. This washing with a bowl and flannel lark isn't much fun either so I'm looking forward to my builder/plumber coming on Tuesday :o.

Hi Denise, thanks for ploughing through all my blatherings :). It is a wonderful feeling to clear the debts all in one go isn't it. Well done for staying out of debt for 15 years :T. I will never willingly take on debt again so I hope to emulate you.
