Glad DS is doing well. My two aren't too informative but will share with each other. The plus side is that if one was in actual trouble, the other would tell me. Looking forward to hearing about today
sorry about the water, it's like it knows the worst time to pick, and picks it anyway.
Glad DS is having a good time, and at least you know some of what he is doing!

We're getting drip fed a small amount of information by DS2!
We hadn't heard from him since the cathedral incident and he hadn't been on Messenger since, so I texted him in the middle of the night (evening for him) to say are ok and are you back at hotel.
I got a reply straight away, just one word which said "Stop." I guess he doesn't want me to text himbut at least I know he's still alive
.
The water only pours through the ceiling when people shower, so as long as we're dirty everything will be fine . We'll ring the builder before I go out. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Oh it sounds like DS doesn't want you worrying about him which I imagine is impossible.
I hope you get your shower fixed and that it doesn't cost too much.
Have a lovely treat day, it certainly sounds like you need a little time away from day to day stress.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -

What a faff about the shower Hairy. I do hope you get it fixed pronto.
Re DS2 I think he is only reacting like so many of his peers. If you hadn’t have texted him at all he though he would then have wondered why!:rotfl: I’m sure he’ll keep you updated on his goings on - I think they like to feel they’re in charge of the correspondence!

RETIRED: MAY 2021!!!!😀🎆
My diary: “Seasidegal's Scrimpy Retirement Diary!”0 -
I left a messsge on our builder's answer phone, but I'm guessing he doesn't do weekends as we haven't heard back
. So no showering for us today .
I went into town and decided to do some Christmas shopping, so I got a craft beer gift set for DS3 for £6 and a whisky gift set for DS2 for £6, both from Mr T.
Then I got a book on how to grow your own vegetables for my step sister's husband. It should have been £2 but it had a bent corner so I negotiated it down to £1 :money:. I always give them a token gift. For my step sister I have some classic crime books from the charity shop but in near perfect condition :money:.
Then I got two Christmas dvds for my mum and stepdad for £10 (Nativity and Christmas With the Kranks). They like the heart warming kind of film: I do too but I also like films like Die Hard.
So I'm feeling a bit more ahead with the Christmas shopping :snow_grin.
I also bought myself a dress, ahem, for £59 and I'm feeling very guilty about that :shhh:, but I really liked it and not many dresses look good on me. So I'm thinking that maybe I could pay for it out of my Christmas money when I get it as my mum always gives me money.
It was mental in town, massive crowds and long queues, so I was glad to get home but I enjoyed my latte :coffee:Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I also spent £8.34 in Mr T on bananas, satsumas, chocolate and crisps for DH and DS1, and fruit pots.
I finally remembered to weigh myself this morning and as I expected I've put on weight, 9 lb since September.
I'm not surprised with all the stress eating I've been doing and I haven't been doing regular walks, but I am cross with myself because I worked hard to lose the weight and a lot of my clothes feel tight and uncomfotable now :mad::mad:.
I won't be able to lose it all before Christmas, but I might manage to lose a couple of pounds if I'm good. Then I'll eat what I want on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the day after.
Then on 28th December I'll gradually cut down on treats over a few days. Have another blow out on New Year's Eve and Day. Then back into serious healthy eating and daily walks on 2nd January.
Well, that's the plan, anyway.

. I feel very guilty, but I felt magnetically drawn into the shop :rotfl:. I think I was comfort buying after all the stress we've had recently
.
Also at the wedding I noticed that all the women in my family seem to buy a new dress for every wedding, and I've worn the same black dress for two weddings and one anniversary party (plus it's an evening dress so not that suitable) and for this wedding I wore my interview suit.
I haven't told DH yet but he probably won't mind if I say I'll use my Christmas money to pay for it. He's pretty good about me buying things as long as we're not down to our last pennies.
It's a really nice day time dress that I can wear with thick tights if I want to look a bit smarter than usual.
