  • I hope so too beanie. I have a horrible feeling that he might suddenly say he's going to stay in America for Christmas, but I hope I'm wrong. DH thinks I'm being silly to think that. Time will tell :o.

I have been doing a lot of steps, I expect I'd be losing weight if I wasn't stress eating :rotfl:.

If DS3's waiter trial goes well then he may stay on until midnight, so a late night could ensue . It's all go in the hairy household :rotfl:.

  • DS2 has just messaged us asking about his flight home and worrying that he might have missed it :). It sounds like he's coming home tomorrow, such a relief :).

Am I silly to get so anxious? I just feel like we've had so much stress lately that I don't know what's normal any more. I've got tears in my eyes with the relief :o.

  • Did you ever think you'd find yourself grateful for Trump? It's highly unlikely DS would get a visa, work permit, etc.

  • Good point INOD :). DH's sister tried to move to America once years ago, but was not able to as she got refused a visa after living there for several three month periods. And that was before Trump!

Glad to hear son is on his way home & hopefully your builder will have your shower sorted today :)
  • Thanks Munchin :). I haven't heard from the builder yet but I hope he's still coming.

DS3 got on well at his waiter try out, so he stayed on until midnight and got paid for the last two hours. So he should be able to pick up some more shifts over Christmas. He looked so handsome in his black shirt and trousers :).

We had a nessage from DS2 at 12.45am saying "What medicine can I take for a fever?":(. He said it had come on over the past few days and he had a fever but he was okay though. He took a couple of Tylenol (which seems to be paracetamol) so hopefully he will be okay to travel today :o.

Our builder and his mate have just arrived, hopefully our shower will work soon :T.

    Thanks purplemum and Abba.

I'm a bit worried about DS2's fever :( but I'm telling myself that's it's probably nothing serious. The six hour time difference is a right pain, but I'll be able to message him around lunchtime and ask him if he's okay this morning.

What did we worry about before we had children? :( I haven't told my mum he's in America because it would worry her to death, so I can only talk it over with DH. I'll be thankful when he's on his first plane!

It's very difficult to concentrate on work this morning but I must try or our money will dry up :o.

At least our shower is being fixed :T. They are fitting new taps/shower spray right now :T. We're not sure what it will cost but at least we have the emergency fund.

Our shower is working :j. It's only an over the bath type thing but we have new taps/shower spray fitted. Our builder said the taps/shower spray cost £100 and he charged us £60 for the labour, which we thought was quite reasonable. We can all shower again :T.

Haven't heard from DS2 yet but hopefully we'll hear soon.
