Hope you're feeling a bit better this evening, and even better tomorrow.

I always forget people and got to the point that I carried them round with me, and pretended to 'find' them in my handbag ten mins later.

I also always have spare presents as I forget people as well!

Thanks Nicnak :). It's definitely not just you!
I must admit Hairy OH doing housework avoids him working. I then end up doing that but I am more efficient at it anyway!
I can work and do housework (when I'm not ill) but DH only appears to be able to manage one or the other :rotfl:.

I love writing out, sending and receiving cards. Sadly my card list gets shorter every year. I remember years ago having strings of them all around the house. I think it's a sad sign of the times.
I'm definitely getting less than I used to, although cards from school have bumped it up a bit this year.

I've been a very sporadic visitor to your diary recently, dratted RL issues got in the way:( but I recall you mentioning a while ago being invited to your school staff meal. Has it already taken place? If so, I hope you had a lovely time:). If you still have it to look forward to, enjoy:beer:

Thanks FS :). It's coming up tonight FS.

Thanks TF2 :). Yes everyone is ready for a break, even me (but only because I've been ill :rotfl:).

  • Yesterday I went in at 9am for my paid cover then did my lunchtime job. It went fine but I felt as though my brain had been removed and replaced with cotton wool! At lunchtime it was fine rain before the children ate so I got a bit soggy in the playground, the noise in the dining room really did my head in (normally I don't mind it) and then after they ate it chucked it down so we had indoor play :(.

So that was all pretty exhausting and then I'd been invited by my fellow MTAs to go for lunch at a local pub as a seasonal get together. I wanted to go and it was enjoyable. I spent £4.85 on a main and a diet peps! which I was was very cheap I thought. Then DH picked me up and we bought two presents in town that needed posting.

Well I really overdid it and I felt ill when I got home :(. I lay on the sofa most of the evening and DH cooked again (he's cooked most of the week). At bed time I my feet were throbbing and I was aching all over, so I couldn't go to sleep for ages due to sheer discomfort :(.

So I decided not to volunteer this morning. I hate missing volunteering, especially this week with all the Christmas fun, but I've just been feeling so tired and ill that I couldn't face going in :(. I've got to do my lunchtime job (I just hope it doesn't rain heavily) and I'm supposed to be going out for a meal tonight with some teachers and the TAs. I've already paid £20 for it so I hope I'm up to going.

I'm determined to volunteer tomorow morning even if I drop dead in the classroom because it's the last day before the Christmas holidays. I'm going to take some chocolates in for the children today as the teachers will be giving them presents tomorrow so I think it's better to spread the joy and give out mine today. I've got three giant tubs of H£r0es to give to my lunchtime class, my volunteer class and the class I did the cover in :).

I'd better stop posting and go and get ready for school now!

  • Thanks SA :). I'm only taking eccinaccea regularly. I did have two ibuprofen at bedtime last night but they made zero difference to my aches and pains :(. I'll take another two just beore I leave. The trouble is that too many painkillers make me feel ill so I try to only take them when I'm really desperate.

It's chucking it down with rain so it's definitely going to be wet playtime  but if I come home afterwards and sit on the sofa for a few hours and don't move hopefully I'll be up to going out tonight!
