Interesting talk about humidifiers- I’ve talked about getting one for a couple of years now. We get damp around a bay window but I know it’s because there’s a slight leek in the flat roof above it - we got some quotes but never actually got around to having it repaired.....
It’s hard going when there’s staff shortages - I was talking to a friend from work last night about our staff shortages- not helped by me being off virtually 6 months....I felt quite bad when she was telling how mad it is.January spends - £587.580 -

Work sounds busy with less staff , but time passes fast. How is the assignment coming on? You might have already finished it.
Are you collecting DS3 in the next few weeks ?
Have sent you a PM .
Thanks Sunshine. I've replied. DS3 breaks up around the middle of December so we should hopefully be collecting him in a few weeks

It's not your fault Milann and at least they're paying someone to cover for you. We have three MTAs off sick and nobody is covering for them .Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

HH, no there’s no cover as such for me - they’re shuffling odour team of staff around and doubling some children up - I’m getting sick pay but no one to cover my complete job. Or any other job HLTAs cover if a teacher is off but support staff haven’t been covered fully for a good few years now. Sad times..... They did actually take a new member of staff to take one of my children part of the time but other staff left at the same time I went off and haven’t been replaced. So our team that move around certain children is down.January spends - £587.580

I'm not going to count my student loan or mortgage. But we have no credit card debts, no loans, no catalogue debts, no store card debts, no car finance, or any other kind of consumer debt.
Although we still struggle to pay the bills sometimes because of our tiny and irregular income, having no debts hanging over us has removed a heavy burden that used to keep me awake at night with my tummy grinding with anxiety. Our debts were like a sword of Damocles poised above us, ready to fall and cause catastrophe in our lives. I honestly thought at one time that I would die in massive debt, so I'm very thankful to be free.
What a wonderful anniversary :T:T:T:T
You should be very proud of yourselves for that !0 -
I agree with others who said that time flies. I'm relatively new to your diary (I read it all at one go to catch up once I found it:eek:) so the immediacy of reading of your progress to debt-freedom in 'real time' was sort of lost on me. 2 whole years of debt-freedom, it must feel so good. Well done to you both:j:beer:
The time your DS has been away seems to have flown by too, although probably not for you as I know how much you miss him.0 -
2 years, that has gone so fast. Congratulations :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Wow happy 2 years DF HH - we had been MF for three years on that same date so absolutely identify with the time flying thing - amazing where it goes. I think to some extent we are still getting used to the difference as well!
We LOVE our dehumidifier - it doesn't get used daily any more but we try to run it during the day to give the bedrooms & bathroom the benefit and then overnight to help the front room, a couple of days a week, and it definitely makes a difference. When I last checked on running costs of ours it was around 25p a day running around the clock - I suspect that has increased a little since though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Congratulations on your 2 year debt free anniversary :T Do you think all the boys will be home with your for Christmas? DD finishes uni on 12th but is staying on at the house because it's easier to get into work from there.
Good to read DH has some ideas about the business. I really hope it picks up for him and you. xx0
