Thanks Redo. How long do you leave it running for normally?

Evening HHD
Hope you're keeping well. Just catching up with everything and feel the need to tell you I have grey grout AND a dehumidifier :rotfl:
I put my clothes on the airer, shove them in the smaller room, close the door and it's amazing how much water is in the container and how warm the room feels when I walk in.
Hope everything is going well at school. I imagine it's really on the verge of getting hectic now in the run up to Christmas isn't it. Sorry if I've missed this but will you have to close for the day for elections? xx
Thanks TF2. I've finally got over my third cold of the term thanks.
The children are starting to rehearse for their Christmas plays now and I know it will get even more hectic from now on . Our school doesn't close for the elections luckily (or unluckily). Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi, I used to have a very very damp flat, I would run a dehumidifier overnight and the difference it made was remarkable, when I first used it it needed emptying twice daily but as it got on top of the atmosphere it was definitely much less, we now use one only when drying clothes and that makes such a difference.0

Thank you Lemon Tree. That's useful to know.

I'm loving all the talk about dehumidifiers:T. Can't remember if it was me who first started it:o but it's certainly something that's been on my mind for ages. Lots of really useful ideas/experiences posted which have helped me greatly. Thanks, HH, for letting us all take over your diary for a while. I see the ideas have given you some food for thought too so it's all been good:beer:
I was wondering about the running costs too as I suspect any dehumidifier I get will be on pretty much 24/7 at least for a few weeks. The windows are always running with water and the inner frames and sills have pools on them every morning. It looks as if a dehumidifier during the night would help and that's why I mentioned noise levels as DH is even bothered by the fridge and freezer even though they are a few rooms, 2 flights of stairs and a long landing away from our bedroom and all room doors shut overnight:eek:
As for grey grout, I'm not too sure:o. It might just be a case of not seeing any mould but it would still be lurking there. I'd rather be aware of it and try to remove it rather than just camouflaging it, even though our white grouting now is anything but:(
Good for you going to Pilates even though your friend wasn't going:beer:. I hope the effects will make you feel good for the hectic days ahead.
I meant to ask before (I'm the nosy poster on this diary:o:o:o) but is DH2 still with you or is he on holiday? I think you said he fancied Turkey this time. It's just that you often mention DH1 but have gone a bit quiet on DH2.
Wishing everyone who reads this diary a good, and hopefully dry day:beer:0 -

Thanks FS. I only have one husband :rotfl:
. No DS2 isn't on holiday yet. He's got a visa for Turkey but I'm not sure when exactly he wants to go there.
I definitely NEED a dehumidifier so will add it to my wish list but I can't afford one at the moment. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I had a fairly productive day today.
This morning I checked my payslip online and saw that I got paid yesterday and was given half of my overtime. So I paid our water bill (£94) and NP0w3r (£45). There is still some left to go towards December's bills. I can't afford any premium bonds this month
. DS3 asked me to top up his phone for him but he's paid me back now.
School was good. Three lunchtime staff are still off sick but it was dry and we managed, although it was super hectic and I wouldn't want to do it long term. Volunteering this afternoon was good too, although it decided to chuck it down with rain at hometime.
DH seems enthusiastic about some new ways to promote his business so that's positive.
So all in all not a bad day. I hope everyone has had a good Tuesday.

I've just realised that DH and I have been debt free for two years on 31st October just gone :T :j :T  .
I'm not going to count my student loan or mortgage. But we have no credit card debts, no loans, no catalogue debts, no store card debts, no car finance, or any other kind of consumer debt.
Although we still struggle to pay the bills sometimes because of our tiny and irregular income, having no debts hanging over us has removed a heavy burden that used to keep me awake at night with my tummy grinding with anxiety. Our debts were like a sword of Damocles poised above us, ready to fall and cause catastrophe in our lives. I honestly thought at one time that I would die in massive debt, so I'm very thankful to be free.

That's gone by super fast , well done on staying debt free .
Work sounds busy with less staff , but time passes fast. How is the assignment coming on? You might have already finished it.
Are you collecting DS3 in the next few weeks ?
Have sent you a PM .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -
