I felt so tired yesterday that apart from ironing my work clothes and doing two loads of laundry, I just watched telly with DH all day :o. We watched four rom coms, Two Week's Notice, When Harry Met Sally, Maid in Manhattan and Friends wIth Benefits :rotfl:. Silly escapist nonsense but it was what I was in the mood for. I felt so tired that DH offered to cook dinner. I went to bed at 10pm and slept soundly all night. Poor DH had to collect DS1 from the coach station at 11.30pm though. Yesterday was a NSD as we didn't leave the house

I did feel better this morning luckily, although by the afternoon I was feeling really tired again. I hope I'm not coming down with something :(. School was fine and despite some icy rain showers the children played outdoors and the sun even came out occasionally. I decided to skip Pilates as my friend isn't going tonight anyway and rest instead.
Anyway I earnt money for every hour I worked today (makes a nice change) and it was a NSD for me as I remembered to take a coke from home and didn't go to Pilates.

DH took the car for it's MOT today. It cost £85 including the test as a few bits needed doing. But there is some advisory stuff that needs doing before we next do a long journey which will cost about £150. I'm very relieved that the car got through it's MOT for only £85 though as it could have been a lot worse. So that's the car taxed and MOTd. The next hurdle will be finding cheap car insurance in a week's time.

I hope everyone has had a good Monday :).

  • Glad the car passed relatively lighter. My car needs its service in December and that will cost £169. It will change the oil and filter for me so I can't complain too much as it all needs doing. I hate spending money on things like this, but if it keeps the car on the road and safe for me and little one, it has to be done.

It's actually lovely to hear of you having a 'day off', even if the never-ending wash-pile still claims your attention (you do seem to do a LOT of washing !!).
I'm not much one for romcons, a serious horror fan personally, but for some reason I love 'Shallow Hal'.

OH has taken his car for its MOT today - so we're hoping all will be easy & cheap !

Thanks Elizabeth :). I have to be in the mood for a romcom as I''m normally a thriller Dublin Murders sort of person, but on Sunday I felt a bit low and was in the mood for something cosy and escapist to cheer me up.

Good luck with your MOT, I hope it passed!

Today is the day I eat my lunch at 11am and volunteer in the afternoon! It was actually dry and sunny all day which made a lovely change and we were able to use all of the playgrounds for the first time in ages. My day was fairly uneventful.

I remembered to take a coke to school so saved 90p. It wasn't a NSD though as I did spend £2.50 on a knitted poppy, but I can wear wear it every year and just pop £1 in the charity pot and it's easier to put on than trying to attach a traditional poppy with a pin.

When I got home I emptied the kitchen bins which were both full along with a couple of rubbish bags that had appeared in the kitchen (from DS2's room). Before school I sorted through some craft materials to take in to school and tidied up a little bit and I'm going to put some towels on to wash in a minute. But apart from that I don't feel as if I've done very much housework today.

I hope everyone had had a good Tuesday :).
