A good way of sneakily getting more veg in your diet would be to substitute potato mash with cauliflower mash (which is lovely) or swede/carrot/sweet potato mash. I make a Quorn cottage pie with veg mash. Also if you like beans/pulses they count towards 1 of your 5 a day. Then there's spiralised veg in place of pasta and cauliflower rice which is great underneath a curry or chilli.

Picking up on Sun Addict's excellent suggestion I recommend the cauliflower rice. I buy frozen 4 200 gram bags for £2 in Mr A. I know you use Mr T and I think they do it too. I love it with curry and it helps me with my weight control :)

I am not at all surprised at the school not paying you full rate, they most probably have nothing left in the pot. I am more surprised that they are not cutting down on any paid staff at present. *Hopefully all this new money they are giving schools may help the situation.** Yes from there* to ** was a joke!

Do you have a supermarket with self service tills anywhere nearby. If so, use one of those to get rid of your change. I got rid of over £5 worth of copper once & they actually had to empty the container for me to finish. I apologised & they said that it was fine it saved them paying for change to be delivered.

Glad to hear you are upping your veg intake. My life has changed somewhat this year (an old relationship getting stronger I suppose you could say) but what you said made me realise that my energy has been flagging & realise that my friend doesn't eat veg, which has meant that my intake has dropped a lot. So new resolution here to eat more veg! Thanks for making me get the heads up!

Hi HHD :) It doesn't surprise me about the pay at all. The TA's at my old school have had hours and rates cut. :( But at the moment you're gaining experience, showing your worth and getting paid. :T

The cake stand and teacups are just the sort of thing I'd love to keep and use.

Are you on your last week now before half term. I think it's gone really quickly - again! DS doesn't seem to have been back 2 minutes.

Hope your energy levels improve and you have a good week. xx

Thank you both :). Oh dear I don't think I'll ever get a TA job if schools have such tiny budgets and are cutting back all the time :(.

I save up the coins as a way of saving Bad Memory and I've transferred the money into my savings account :). I'm glad I've reminded you to eat more veg.

Yes I am on my last week next week before half term TF2. I think it's gone quickly and slowly somehow.

  • Just back and catching up. Well done with your daily veg intake and I hope you can get your bloods done with your GP soon.

Someone else mentioned your SD will be thankful for how well you have handled the new relationship as I am sure he values you in his life. You've done so well with all that.

    Glad Pilates is back too.

    Happy Sunday.

Thank you DIA :). It's good to have you back :).

Thanks SA and DIA :). I do like the sound of cauliflower rice so I'll look out for some. I love sweet potato but can I make myself mash it? :o.

I've updated my list and done all of the things on it :T. I like to get lots done at the weekend as I feel too busy and tired in the week so I'm pleased to have crossed everything off the list :).

I'm at school all day tomorrow so I'll be tired when I get home., but I feel prepared for the week now. Time to relax with the first series of Jonathan Creek once dinner is cooked and eaten :).

I make my veg mash with a hand held stick blender which makes it so much easier.

I love sweet potato chips :) Some more suggestions: butternut squash wedges, beetroot chips and swede chips - all delicious.

Personally I love my veg, always have done even as a child, I'd happily live on it but aware I also need protein etc :)

They all sound lovely SA :). I know you can buy sweet potato chips pre-prepared, but what about the other things?

It's easy just to cut them up yourself HH even the sweet potato chips. I just spray them with Frylight and sprinkle some herbs or spices over them and bake in the oven. The butternut squash wedges are rather nice with a bit of grated cheese scattered over for the last few minutes.
