Its a diversion tactic from their own failings.
Anyway, children of the age groups you deal with shouldn't be quiet, it squashes character. My pair are both at best socially awkward, and they thrived on the support of people like you who didn't make them conform and laughed and encouraged them to express an opinion. I am eternally gratefully to the lovely teachers and support staff who treat children as individuals.
Ask yourself, who would you want looking after your DC at that age - you or the moaning jobsworth? I think you would pick you every single time.My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

I ate a raw carrot with my dinner tonight. That may not sound like much of a victory but I only eat vegetables once a week normally (on Saturday nights when DH cooks). I'm going to try and eat some kind of vegetable every day with my evening meal in the hope that it may improve my energy levels.
I may also go to the walk in clinic at the doctor at half term and mention my chronic tiredness in case there is something wrong with me.
I've been going to bed at 9.30pm every night this week and sleeping soundly most nights, but I still feel tired. I take a multivitamin/multimineral tablet every day but that doesn't seem to be helping.
I do over ten thousand steps every day but Sunday and my job is tiring, but I still feel like I shouldn't be exhausted all the time.

Thank you Redo. It's nice of you to say that. I've been talking to individual children who were upset or concerned about something and so the rest of the line may have got a little talkative while I was doing that. But if the teachers would rather the line was completely silent, then I don't know what I can do other than say to the children to tell me their concerns another time
.

Might be worth getting a blood test to see if your levels are ok. Sometimes one thing being off can set off a massive chain reaction across your body. They can usually be fixed quite easily though.
Hope you get some more energy over the weekend xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

I was trying to think what else you could add cheaply. MrT does some great weekly F&V offers now.
Don't forget about fruit juice, and frozen veg (peas, beans, sweetcorn here are standard). Nice tomatoes as a snack? Roasted veg? I do peppers, onions, tomatoes and chopped up not really Feta which is quire cheap as a meal stirred through some basic couscous. Soup! It doesn't have to be an expensive machine, a £7 value stick bender does an OK job
Does sound like you need your bloods checking. Anaemia is iron and leafy green veg.My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Thank you Redo. I do like tomatoes, peppers sweecorn and quite a lot of other vegetables, although I rarely eat them (I don't dislike them anyway, I just don't feel like eating them most days).
Your feta recipe sounds good but I think I'd have to do the chopping at weekends and freeze it. I can't seem to face chopping things on weekdays. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Just caught up with your post about the other teacher.
I work in a referral unit now (11 years of mainstream) and we deal with distressed children because they've not had the opportunity to express themselves and have ended up not coping well in a mainstream school environment. They have been forced to conform and be quiet and not express themselves in a way that they should be able to.
If you are spoken to about it, which I very much doubt, then don't feel you need to justify it. You are doing what you believe is right by the children in your care.
I find that teachers that go behind backs, are mostly insecure about their own practice (and have been told about it) so try to deflect the attention onto someone else. It's hard not to take it personally (I am having a similar issue at the minute), but don't. It says a lot more about them than you. The chances are, they are threatened by how good you are and are more worried about you then anything.
It took me 8 years to understand this and I kept worrying about things like this until one day I realised what was happening and it just all clicked.
The lady I am working with at the minute, keeps going to our line manager about insignificant things. Luckily for me, I am aware of what she is up to, and have done more than enough to prove my worth. You have proven your worth ten times over to the people that matter. Firstly, the people that matter the most are you, and the children. Are they happy? Do they chat to you? Are you not building those positive relationships that encourage them to be happy, or if not, tell you so you can help make them happy? That is more worth than a quiet line.

Could you make your own soups? Put lots of veg in it that way? I always puree my soups as I don't like chunky soups and it is a way of getting veg in. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Thank you Nicnak. It's nice of you to say that. Yes the children do seem happy, lots of them chat to me and some of them come up and give me hugs. It is upsetting that someone has complained behind my back. I know I'm probably more upset about it than I need to be, but I can't seem to help it because this job means everything to me
.
I hope nobody speaks to me about it next week  but if they do I'll just tell them the truth and say that I've been dealing with individual children's concerns, but if keeping the line quiet is more important then I'll have to concentrate on that instead.
I'm sorry this has been happening to you too Nicnak. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
