Well done on the assignment. You are so close to finishing. Amazing accomplishment. I'm another one who thinks you will get a tA job sooner rather than later. You are such a good fit. If we can all see that so can the powers that be :)

I used to wear incredibly shabby clothes inside but I bought a beautiful kimono gown on sale and I wear the now. I love it. Sometimes when working in the kitchen or doing grubby jobs I wear leggings and an old T shirt but I put the gown over the top if the door knocks :)

I love the air after a thunderstorm...

Wishing you a lovely weekend :)

I also often change into 'house' clothes which for me are my older scruffy clothes as I like to keep my better clothes 'good'.
I never wear my good stuff at home, I will change as well like Beanie said. Well done on more decluttering. I am moving so there will be more decluttering done I am sure.

Me too, I change into 'old' clothes when I get home from work this is partly because I'm a messy moo with food but also the cat is very long haired and I'm always covered in bits of his fur and also his claws sometimes catch my clothes :o

I'm glad it's not just me who changes into old clothes :). The old summer trousers I used to wear around the house are too big now I've lost weight. At least the ones I've bought were very cheap in the sale.

My mother, like many of her generation, wore a sort of overall during the day, very practical for any sort of housework. It was happy during the front door-step scrubbing or while using the mangle !
From when I was around 9, particularly when I had the measles, and later on when I got bad period pains, I used to put one of her old overalls on to wear in bed and felt comforted.

Your glamorous kimono sounds a lovely idea DIA.
  • I remember my grandmothers both doing that Elizabeth :). They had a sort of apron or house coat type garment that they wore to keep their clothes clean and changed into best clothes if they went to the shops or to church or whatever :).

  • It's a beautiful sunny day today and I'd love to go to a NT place or the beach, but unfortunately we can't :(.

The insurance people are coming to lay new vinyl in the toilet and new laminate flooring in the kitchen on Friday :T. Our builder seems to be on holiday, so DH is planning to fit plywood on the toilet floor today, as the floor expert said it would make a better base for the vinyl than the floorboards. He also wants to remove the skirting boards in the kitchen before the laminate is laid and then we won't need the edging strip, as the flooring expert said it would look better and we agree with him. Then we'll get our builder to put the skirting boards back after the laminate is laid, or else DH will do it. So a busy day for DH. I've helped him out by cleaning the skirting boards in the toilet and cleaning the toilet too, so it's nicer for him to work around it.

I've washed the shower curtain which was looking yukky and now it's bleaching in a bucket to get rid of the mould that won't wash off. I've also got a wash in the machine which will need hanging in the garden to dry soon.

DS2 spilt milk on DS1's slippers and DS1 is very upset about it! So I want to handwash his slippers today in the interest of peace among siblings!

Another important thing I want to do today is to find some photos of my mum for DH to scan. It's the one year anniversary of her death on Wednesday and I wanted to do a nice photo tribute on FB. I want to scan some older photos of her when she was younger that many family members won't have seen before and I also want to get these into the cloud as I'm worried about the actual photos getting lost or damaged.

I do feel quite emotional as the anniversary approaches and I know the day itself will be hard. I'll be at school in the morning which will be a good distraction and meeting aunt and uncle for coffee in the afternoon at a NT place. I don't want to go to the grave on the day as I would find that very upsetting, and stepdad plus aunt and uncle want to put flowers there. I'd rather go another day when I can be there by myself.

So despite the beautiful weather, we're going to be at home today, but at least I can enjoy it through the windows and we''ll get some useful tasks done.

I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday :).
