I have printed and folded all my facts and journal slips ready to put in jars...went to Tesco today and...all they had was one jar which was £2:eek: I hope they are going to restock the £1 ones but it looks doubtful as I couldn't see a SEL. I just want to get them finished now!

Oh bunbun, what a pain. Do you have an Ikea near you as they have suitable jars. I'd offer to post one but after postage we'd be looking at way more than £2! Could you use the same/similar type of plastic jars you used for your son't jars? I love those.

I couldn't find any jars and was trying to be very mse.........so ended up putting mine in stainless steel tins, decorative choccy tins and biscuit tins so they're 365 Facts in a Can, and the quotes and silly facts are a Pick 'n Mix - I've added sweets as well - general idea is that the person closes their eyes and takes a lucky dip...............lol

SarahF, well done on the 365 jokes jar I've been searching for jokes online & am up to about 200 but can't believe how much effort it is. Probably not helping that I'm trying to use short jokes to make sure they all fit in the jar & to save paper (in a mse way of course!).
  • finished my interesting facts today spread the cutting and folding over 2 days, i'm quite pleased with it, my brother is going love it (he better or there will be trouble lol)

saving holmes - it is hard to think of things but I got there in the end...........lol If you want any ideas I can let you have the ones I've done if that would help.
Doing one for our lad is going to be hard as he's not had a happy childhood and I don't want to drag a lot up about that by asking family questions

candy - for my pickled bums I put them in an old honey jar, popped in some pickling spice to cover up the bottom of the jar so grandson won't see my awful knots and sewing..........lol then stuck a label on saying Pickled Bums - got an image of a couple of 'bums' from one of the craft sites.
You could have some pot pourri scatter among the bums as well as in the lid and label them 'smelly bums'...............even though it would be a nice smell:rotfl:

Mary, probably far too late but I've only just cottoned on to these threads! For the journal jar for your foster lad, have you thought of asking questions that concentrate on hopes/plans for the future rather than stuff about the past? I don't know if that would be suitable but it would avoid dredging up bad memories.

Good luck with it anyway. I'd like to do one for DH Nan as it would be a fantastic collection of memories but I don't want it to look like a 'before it's too late' situation! Maybe I have to wait for a milestone birthday do them for lots of people at once to avoid that...

Thanks just what I'm doing - concentrating the questions on the 'now' and the 'future'. Might make him really think about where he wants to be in his life.:j
