Still, we've got a street sale tomorrow morning (our street and the one next to it -people put tables of the stuff they don't want,_ bit like a boot fair.........so you never know I might find one. I need a marble as well for one of the survival kits I'm doing for my friend 'in case she loses hers'...................lol:rotfl:
A street sale, what a fab idea! :T
We couldn't do that here, everything would be taken ... free of charge.
Mind you it is great, anything you dont want you just put out on the street, and you can guarantee it is gone within the hour.
We had to laugh when we went out and on the way back, saw two guys on the next street, carrying our double matress on their heads. Even the old fridge/freezer walked too!
At least you dont get done for fly tipping !!!

I am currently surrounded by bums !!!! After having my jars for 2 weeks, yesterday I finally got round to making my bums, and today remembered to buy some pot-pouri.

The plastic on the lid actually comes apart so I have put some pot pouri in there (which I think jazz's the jar up a bit). But no matter how many times I fill, empty and refill, I just cant seem to make them look half decent.

I think they look better just with the bums in, but as I was thinking of labelling them up as 'smelly bums', they are not going to be that 'smelly' without the pot-pouri.

Does anyone have any ideas how I could improve on this?

Thanks wendywitch, I have bought another pair of tights and cotton wool so will have another go, this time using smaller squares (2 x 2 inch), as the jars are not that big, maybe it will look better with more of them in.

candy - my brother lives in Spain and he's mentioned these 'free for all' events. Wish we had them here. Mind you I only spent about £5 today - stuff for baby grandson, punchbag that's got a suction pad and sticks to a desk (hopefully) for teenage grandson -and three glass jars with cork tops...........perfect to do 'safe keeping' jars for grandchidren.

When you do your pickled bums candy did you put a bit of blusher on each 'cheek' ? I did and it made them look better I think.

Hey Mary, They took advantage of the 'free' bit the other week, tried to pinch my car !!!! I hope he's having better weather than us, its been throwing it down big time all week!!! Was going to start emptying my DD's splash pool this week (a few buckets of water onto the road each day ... wot with no drains) now it's 3 quarters full of water!!!
Well done on only spending 5 pound !!!
Yes I did put some blusher on them, it makes all the difference to them doesnt it, but I really think that they are a bit too big for the size of the jars. I will do some smaller ones which will hopefully give me a bit more room in the jar for the pot-pouri. I will just get a bigger jar for those ones, and give it my friend for xmas. I found it quite relaxing sewing those bums :D

candy - I thought I'd find it relaxing doing 'bums' (had intentions of doing loads of them) but my fingers aren't that good for sewing and I got in a right pickle (excuse the pun..............lol)
I just used one cotton wool ball per bum..........maybe thats what made it so fiddly.

Had e mail from my brother this morning saying it was raining (for a change he said).
Bit much someone trying to take your car...........

candy - 5 !!!!! Definitely 'does my bum look big in this'........................lol

I did use two on some of mine so I got a variation of size and that worked out about right.

No tennis balls to be found at the street fair..........gonna have to buy some. and there was me hoping for a real cheapie pressie........lol

Covered another gravy granule tin with sunshine paper today for 'canned sunshine' -just need the sweets to put in that, plus the 'canned rainbows'
Have to make a note of the sweets I need for retro sweet box (oldest son (40) wants one ! - tins of quotes/daft facts so must hit woolworths on Monday morning and get stocked up so I'm a stage nearer. - So, yet another list to add to lists galore.............:rotfl:
