Gift in a Jar ideas

I am currently surrounded by bums !!!! After having my jars for 2 weeks, yesterday I finally got round to making my bums, and today remembered to buy some pot-pouri.
The plastic on the lid actually comes apart so I have put some pot pouri in there (which I think jazz's the jar up a bit). But no matter how many times I fill, empty and refill, I just cant seem to make them look half decent.
I think they look better just with the bums in, but as I was thinking of labelling them up as 'smelly bums', they are not going to be that 'smelly' without the pot-pouri.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could improve on this?A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
saving holmes - it is hard to think of things but I got there in the end...........lol If you want any ideas I can let you have the ones I've done if that would help.
Doing one for our lad is going to be hard as he's not had a happy childhood and I don't want to drag a lot up about that by asking family questions
candy - for my pickled bums I put them in an old honey jar, popped in some pickling spice to cover up the bottom of the jar so grandson won't see my awful knots and sewing..........lol then stuck a label on saying Pickled Bums - got an image of a couple of 'bums' from one of the craft sites.
You could have some pot pourri scatter among the bums as well as in the lid and label them 'smelly bums'...............even though it would be a nice smell:rotfl:Mary

Finally finished a couple of projects (something to fill up the nappy cake stall, along with my flannel cakes, jars of nothing, mugs etc.)
100% Natural Bubble Bath

(   Just noticed I've put 'directions' instead of 'instructions' ....... don't suppose I could get away with it, what do you think?)
The Ball of Life
Suffering from Stress:
Fondle it constantly.
Need to relieve your anger:
Throw it at someone.
Short of a massage:
Roll it around the bottom of your feet.
Lack of communication in your life:
Tell it your inner most secrets.
Short of a good friend:
Paint a smiley face on it.
Needing some unconditional love:
Throw it at a wall, it will always come back to you.
Want to be less selfish:
Lend it to someone when you are not using it.
Want to be more aware of others, want to become more thoughtful:
Look after your ball, try to understand how it feels
to be kicked about, stood on and given away and
abused.
Want to be less judgemental:
Be happy with this gift, it's the thought that counts,
not the cost.
I am going to put the tennis balls into a basket, hopefully it will then look a bit more presentable.
Just hope I can actually sell them and more importantly, get rid of them!!! otherwise what on earth am I going to do with all these over here ???Hhhmmm, getting a bit worried now !!

Thanks Mary, I have tried scattering the pot pouri, but it just doesnt seem to look right, whatever I do. Think the pot pouri pieces are a bit on the big side! Think I need to put them to one side and do something else, like wrap all those nappy cakes (gosh only 1 week left!!!)
Hmmm pickling spice, where on earth am I going to find that???
I've been looking for a big bottle of vinegar to do some pickled onions (just for meluv um') I can't even find that.
Or any christmas paper to wrap up me loo rolls .......:p Hasnt anybody heard over here that chrismas is not long way!!!
I think at this rate I will have to invest in a personal shopper!!A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
Candy - I got my pickling spices from our health food shop..........he asked me what I wanted them for and when I told him he looked at me as if I'd lost the plot !!!:rotfl:
Love the idea of the tennis ball....................can I pinch that ?
Feel sure we've got some lurking about somewhere unless OH threw them out.
(don't mention that christmas ain't far off............... I don't think I'll have anything ready..............haven't even put stuff in relevant baskets yet -its still all in a heap, not to mention stuff I'm trying to be 'creative' with........... )Mary

Hmmm, can't say I've seen a spice shop ??? More hunting to do!
You certainly can pinch it (I pinched it off some site), although I thought you weren't doing any more things
let alone reading my posts :rotfl: Mind you, it's so easy, so how can you resist!!!

candy - thats why I thought I'd do it - looked so easy...........plus thought we'd got some tennis balls but OH says we haven't. Still, we've got a street sale tomorrow morning (our street and the one next to it -people put tables of the stuff they don't want,_ bit like a boot fair.........so you never know I might find one. I need a marble as well for one of the survival kits I'm doing for my friend 'in case she loses hers'...................lol:rotfl:
Is there not a Health Food shop near you where you could get pickling spice from ? Not sure is supermarkets stock it or not. Let me know if you get stuck and I'll pick some up for you.
(bit of progress today - done a door hanger -made a boo boo but think it'll be ok, covered two shoe boxes and one notebook.............lol )Mary
