Thanks for the link rainmac - might well use some of that for my family history files just to make them a bit more interesting.

Googles 'useless facts' and came up with some good ones so I'm doing
    general facts
    useless facts
quotes - twice, one for son and one for my friend

Had two jars all washed out ready to do 'safe keeping' jars and OH has chucked the lids out:mad:

I've just done a list of 30 world events for my brother's 30 years and my god it is a tale of woe starting with Thatcher becoming PM in 1979 then we go through war, invasion, more war, terrorist attacks, assassinations... Makes really interesting reading though.

I did a folder for my son last year about all the things to do with 1968 (his birthday) and around that era, what things cost, toys, world events ..........made fascinating reading while I was doing it.

  • wow love this thread!! you have now sorted out gift ideas for all the little "friends of the family" kids that I end up buying for every year

does anyone have any ideas for jar ideas for older people, I am sure I read you could do a soup idea but other than beans or pulses can;t think what to put in them?

    many thanks Bjb

Does anyone know where I would find these in the UK?

I think I could make some cool pressies with these and some glass paints.
