Never been to a Carefour...................never heard of it till now (I lead a sheltered life).................lol
Thats what comes of always living in small market towns where any shops that hold any bargains (Poundland where are you ????) are miles awayDFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0 -
Flippin heck where are you living......................the 1970's??? :eek::eek::eek: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I'm in Murcia, Spain, been here for 10 months now, but am really, really, really missing all the shops.
It's great having the fantastic weather, but am really struggling trying to find things to make all these great ideas that everyone keeps posting.
I still havent found a fabric shop yet, only thing close so far sells boring white and pastel shade ribbons, thread, elastic and buttons.
I have bought a few things from ebay, but have to try and stop myself as the postage costs soon mount up.
Ikea is not too far away, just havent plucked up the courage to drive on the motorway near Ikea, or to Primark, on my own, the area's are so busy it is scary. OH didnt half pull a face the last time I persuaded him to take me, I darent ask him again!!! He just cant see why after moving all the way here, I still want to go shopping in Primark !!!
But in answer to your question :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: sometimes it really does feel as though i'm living in the 1970's.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
Hi Mary, no that wasn't the one, but I think your one looks A 100 TIMES BETTER !!! I'd love to have a go a that, just gotta find some red felt from somewhere. :T
Candy, If you have any old woollen sweaters, unravel them & you can make your own felt (you might have to steam it to straighten it). If you have wool that hasn't been used, even better.

those chinese style bamboo placemats (or last year's calendar, if you get one as a present from your local Chinese restaurant) work well for the rolling
There's another method here but it uses warm water - I've only used very hot water http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Felt0 -
I am thinking of adapting the facts in a jar and maybe doing a 50 facts abotu newcastle united for my OH? may stretch to 100 ... Just need to try and find some now.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

So this morning I have sat and done facts for Newcastle united, printed them off, cut them out and put them in a jar. In the bottom of the jar I put in some black bullets (they are mints?) and then added my facts. I have 40 in total which is plenty and to be honest I couldn't find anymore useful ones without dredging back too far in the years.
Need to redo the label on the front as I am not happy with it and it keeps falling off!. And think I might try to do something with the ribbon to make it stripey in black and white stripes? It has however set me off ... I plan to do a black and white hamper from my children to their daddy which relates around NUFC ... I think he would quite like that lol
Rainmac can I ask how you did your label? what did you stick it on with?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Leave it til next year Mary or you won't have anything to make next year! lol. Have to say without Rainmacs help I couldn't have done it so credit to herRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
That Newcastle jar is simply fab Rusty, your OH will love it and a black and white hamper is a genius idea
I used double side tape to stick the labels which are just normal copier paper. One of mine stuck better than all the others but I'm leaving it as it is, don't think my nan will mind:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
