Caught speeding on same journey 10 minutes apart

Thankyou for the actual intelligent helpful answers. Anyone who has not EVER done 37mph in a 30mph zone is a liar. The point of this forum, I thought was advice. The keyboard warriors who have just put a smart !!!! comment, please don't waste other peoples time, feed one of your 10 cats and order your kebab.
People may be liars, or may not be, they weren't stupid enough to get caught though.
And certainly not three times within a few weeks and twice within a few minutes, you obviously don't meet basic intelligence levels and shouldn't be allowed on the road, it's that simple.0 -

That's a hell of a statement to be fair. Not sure I fully agree with the sentiments.0 -
I was caught speeding in around 1993 55 in a 30. Plead guilty in court and despite my small salary then was fined £150 and three points, a lot then. In the same sitting a local MEP who was caught at 9am and then 5pm the same day got a £30 fine. His solicitor managed to convince the sheriff that this was one offence as it was the same journey:there and back!
To this day it still annoys me.
This was Kirkcudbright Sherrif court.0 -
Hi
I hope someone can help. I have received 2 speeding tickets , the first was 60mph in a 40. The second was 8 minutes later just where i entered the outskirts of Leicester and was caught doing 37mph in a 30mph zone. Do you think the police would consider this as one offence?
I have just sent off the requests for driver information. Have no points currently but did a speed awareness course about 2 months ago.
:wall:
Many thanks
Tim
If only you'd known, you could have chucked in a murder and some theft under the "multiple offences in 10 minutes only counts as a one" rule.0 -
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

"Anyone who has not EVER done 37mph in a 30mph zone is a liar."
I was caught for doing 42mph in a 30mph limit area about thirty years ago. Pleaded guilty, accepted the punishment, fine and points.
However, I learned a lesson from that and have been very, very careful ever since and not been "caught".
Yes, I suspect everyone speeds to a degree and those that say they don't are no doubt telling porkies. Most are not daft enough to be caught three times in as many months though.:)0 -
As someone who worked with speed cameras and the prosecution service, can I just pop in to mention, in a non-judgemental way, that two camera snaps equals two contraventions and therefore two fines.
It is not, NOT, one offence.....0 -
Someone in the town I lived went from having a clean licence to a ban for totting up in one day, all from the same speed camera.
Sped four times past the same camera in a 30mph zone... whilst pretty moronic, I did have a degree of sympathy, as no doubt you'd be more careful if you were on 6/9 points!!0
