Add it to another interesting habit, which is people's accounts of events or problems beginning with "So", as in "So, I was driving to work the other day..." and "So, my car failed its MOT". Almost every other thread seems to begin this way now.
Thank goodness? the rising inflection affliction? hasn't transferred to the written word yet? Or has it..? I always think that people who speak in that way sound terribly unsure of themselves or what they're saying. It used to be heard only amongst children and teenagers but it's spread to a much wider age range now. I know lots of people who never used to talk like that but now do, so it's clearly infectious.
So, you don't like it then?0 -

Thankyou for the actual intelligent helpful answers. Anyone who has not EVER done 37mph in a 30mph zone is a liar. The point of this forum, I thought was advice. The keyboard warriors who have just put a smart !!!! comment, please don't waste other peoples time, feed one of your 10 cats and order your kebab.0

You forgot to mention my missing apostrophe in "don't". Disappointing!0 -
The comments were not about someone occasionally speeding, although I see you haven't used your 60mph in a 40 in your example above, but more about someone who seems to be an habitual speeder having admitted to attending a speed awareness course within the last couple of months and still has a complete disregard for the law.
I think you're taking it all a bit too seriously boss.0 -

Too seriously?
Caught for speeding 3 times in as many months and one offence was them driving at 50% over the posted limit.
If they have been caught this often, how many times do you think they have done it without getting nabbed?0 -

You're the victim of a grave injustice. Never mind treating it as one combined offence, you should be absolved of any guilt because you've only just been on a speed awareness course.
Better now? I hope so, my kebab's going cold.0 -

You can call me a liar if you like. I'm sure you'll be back here in another two months, having been snapped again, asking whether you'll lose your license for having maximum points on your license.0
