    Just didn't want to move in the left lane straightaway because of the weather conditions

    To be fair if the OPs version of events is true, the Poice van must also have been middle lane hogging

    Two wrongs don't make a right. If both the OP and police vehicle were in the centre lane when the left lane was clear then they are both in the wrong.

    Even after all the recentish media coverage of how it is wrong to hog the middle lane it is still a big problem.

    I didn't say it was right, just pointing out something everyone else clearly missed.
