What small DFW things will you do this week - w/c 4 September
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning
Woke up to a terrible shock! Something was tripping out the plug sockets in our board and both the fridge freezer and the 2nd freezer were without electricity  after the initial foggy-just-woke- up-ness and a cup of coffee I was able to work out it was the kettle tripping it. Phew! Fridges now plugged in again!
so that means a new kettle. I want to get an eco kettle to reduce electricity use
Things for today:
* BFF coming over this morning and we're going for breakfast. I haven't seen her for so long I'm really looking forward to catching up :iloveyou: BFF treated me to breakfast and a latte :A Then we came back here for a coffee and a natter for another hour
* flylady lounge -[STRIKE] quick tidy/clean of madam's room [/STRIKE]& bathroom
*[STRIKE] iron madam's school uniform[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* go to the allotment for a couple of hoursMore digging over
[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* also need to nip to Lidl to pick up a few bits. Will do that straight after BFF leaves and then go to the allotment on the way home[/STRIKE]
* want to take madam to the library after school as we've read all her books now, several times!
* take up trousers and jeans - must do this today
* List the 3 things on fleabay I didn't get round to yesterday
[STRIKE]* make a veg curry to use up a load of produce. Will bung it in the SC[/STRIKE]
* make sugar scrub for CMs - part of gift madam is giving them to say goodbye
Ok think that's all I'll get round to. Have a great day guys :ADF as at 30/12/16

Good morning everyone, thank you to DNMS for starting us off.
Just been reading the end of last week's thread, some great money making going on.
Banking all checked, everything ticking over nicely.
Crashed out early last night, was so tired yesterday, still feeling the effects from Friday.
After posting up about my phone, my mum tried to ring on the off chance and the phone worked. Really pleased as it will save me in petrol to get it fixed and the cost of getting it fixed.
DD had asked bestie if she could make sure I was eating while DD at uni so bestie turned up with a dinner last night. Will have that today as I just ended up cracking open a tub if Christmas sweets and snacking yesterday while doing chores.
Continue working on DD room today and meeting tonight, but I need to take it easy as my body is suffering at the minute.
A new pile of items building for CS,I'm continuing to work thru putting away/getting rid of stuff after the decorating.
Right best get ready, small spend required for cat food and litter this morning.
Have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all :hello: thanks for the start DNMS sounds like a lovely day planned. Am working in a different town today, work will pay for fuel and lunch :T other things:
DM sent some money for smalls shoes, which is very kind so paid that to the clothes pot where the funds originally came from
Checked banking, made another £45 payment to LPDF
Used two halves of (different) manky nectarine and a banana that had seen better days in my breakfast smoothie
Takes snacks and hot drink on commute/work
Some knitting tonight, didn't manage it last night as was too tired to concentrate
Try a list a couple of bits on fleabay
Keep an eye on tomatoes on window sill I picked yesterday, there's about 2lb :T
Sort some dry washing out that's hanging round various bits of house making it look like a laundrette :rotfl:
Right, must get on otherwise I'll be late. Back later.0 -

Afternoon folks
ziggy, foxgloves, and any others who are having stressful times - sending you good thoughts
Bit fed up to today. Womb sore. Client hasn't accepted a deliverable (and says we had the same convo last year??) and am having one of my usual arguments with a colleague. I have a lot of respect for this guy but we think in very different ways and he can't help himself but to completely undo all my work and redo it in his own image. I'm currently trying to work on some competency matrices for management and he's decided to redesign them from scratch. The decided to go to the gym and left off steam but forgot my sports bra.
Line drawn.
Mission:- Meals from plan
- Make spag bol as mince defrosted yesterday and not used.
- Try to not kill colleague (although murder sentence potentially mse? No rent, no bills, 3 meals a day... hmmmmm) - no murder committed
- Ends of doom. Only 28 ends left!
- Put washing away. Do more washing (I swear there is a secret person in our house)
- Charge phone in work - forgot to turn charge on at switch
- Emailed re phone insurance
- Sorted holiday insurance
- Sorted his gym programming
- Emailed local toll company as he can't login as no longer has the right email and can't remember password!
- Booked car into garage
I think an alien replaced my husband in the night. I am scared to go home.
Have a good one all

CLF - I think there must be something in the water re partners........mine decided to replace the broken lounge door handle yesterday....not just buy the handle but actually fit it......as in properly opening & closing door!! (Has needed doing for the longest time). Then he serviced the door handle on the bathroom door because it sticks...................before finding the WD40 & sorting out the very badly jamming back door. I'd only asked him to put up my new curtain rail!! That was done first before Doorhandle-itis struck. mr f is not remotely lazy of disorganized but he works full time, including some evenings & weekends, so these smaller but highly annoying jobs tend to get overlooked. I then get ready to do them myself & he gets quite offended.............although a good way of hastening him tackling a job is if I say I'm going to go up the ladder. Because I've had some nasty periods of vertigo in the past (from an ear thing), he worries about me going dizzy while hanging off the top! Anyway, I'm not complaining about Annoying Jobs getting done, bring it on!!

Greetings Monday Money Savers,
Quite a good start to the week, I think. Still feeling motivated & keeping busy is helping me manage my stress levels.
*NSD.
*Did a few surveys.
*Did a big load of laundry overnight on the cheap tariff. Managed to peg it all out in blowy sunshine, so decided to slam a further load in - a quick 30 mins at 30 deg (so cheap). Hopefully everything will get at least partially dry so won't need too much overnight heated airer to finish them off. Have set timer for another cheap overnight load & that should be all the laundry for this week. No point having Economy 7 & not using it.
*Pick up today's windfall pears. Quite windy so likely to be several.
*Find my spare jar stash in shed & bring in plenty of large jars ready for tomorrow's pear chutney-making session.
*Sewed new door curtain. Saving on buying new = £50 - £55, minus the £15 we spent on a Wilko's curtain pole & metal hanging rings. I did manage to recycle an old Indian bedspread to make the curtain. Have used it double so that it hangs nicely. Have a length of fabric left, which I have saved to make a table runner or something similar to get a little bit more of a co-ordinated look for free.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch - intend to get something out of the freezer, so that'll be quick & easy.
*Dismantle beaded door curtain. This had a number of snapped strings & kept fliinging beads off everywhere. However, the remaining beads on it are very numerous......1000s of them......& are glass so I am going to collect them all together in a bowl & wash them, let them dry & think what to do with them. I don't make jewelry any more, but I could weigh them out into bags & list on ebay? Might be useful for crafters, I'll see. If I could summon up the wherewithall to go up into the loft, I think I have 2 boxes of jewelry supplies I could list on ebay. Must try & remember next time one of us goes up there.
*Knit! Have asked family member who is doing the craft stall & I don't think I can get my stuff ready for the 1st one, but she is expecting another (& possible a 3rd) date too, so I should have a modest boxful for that. Every little helps!
OK, must find a big bowl for all these pesky beads. Hope you're all getting off to a good start to the week.

I've no idea whereabouts you are, Arc, but if you're in the SW London/Surrey area this is coming up soon:

I think the NCT do similar things and more regularly.
I've been selling a few bits and pieces on FB but it only seems to sell if it's dirt cheap rather than what it's reasonably worth (second hand.) For some things I'm just glad to get rid of them so it's worth it!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

I'm in Yorkshire, but will definitely check out the NCT! Honestly some of the things I have I've barely used, bought a pushchair with a carseat & carrycot attachment, so you're getting a car seat for the price too, it was worth nearly £300 brand new. I used it for 18 months, put it on Facebook for £100 or near offer, expected to get about £80, someone messaged me offering £30!! The cheek of it! I didn't even respond!!0
