Aqua card have told me they are unable to offer a refund as they do not exceed £12.00. And they have closed my complaint. Is this right that I cant reclaim these?
If you are not happy with the credit card provider's decision, then their response should explain the options available.
Even in the unlikley event the response doesn't, the MSE article does.
As explained in the MSE article, charges of £12 or less are not automatically considered unfair, so why do you think they are in your case?0 -

Late payment/over credit limit charges even if only £1 or £12 are claimable. Search the internet and you will see how people claim these back. How many credit card companies cave in on the steps
of the court ? Have sued Barclaycard to recover these fee's and
despite their lawyers putting all sorts of legal crap as a defence they settled days before the court hearing. Barclaycard settled all
the £12 fees charged plus 8% court interest plus 24.9% compound interest plus LIP costs.

Hi all,
Firstly some background, I've had a BarclayCard for 12+ years and there is a monthly "Optional Payment Protection" charge shown.
Strange as it may seems, I wasn't aware of this monthly payment until about 18 months ago but haven't yet questioned it with BarclayCard!
During the time that I've held the card, I was off work in 2006 for just under 11 months, over a 12 month period plus another 4 months off work in 2011, both for health issues, but was unaware of OPP and what it offers and have not made any claims against BC!
So my questions are...
1. Is OPP the same as PPI?
2. Is it likely that I could successfully approach BarclayCard for a refund?
3. I have also held 2 MBNA credit cards in the past although both have been closed for at least 5-6 years, possibly longer, can I make a claim for any OPP/PPI paid when the cards were active?
Many thanks for any assistance offered,
TonyTony

Hi All
Am struggling to find a link to anything that gives me advice on how to get details of charges applied over 6 years ago - does anybody know whether that's possible without me having statements myself?
I have a couple of statements that show whenever I was charge a late payment fee it was £25 so I'm sure I am eligible to ask for those monies back however I don't have details of everytime that happened as I only kept a statement every 6 months from back then (2003 and before).
Any advice gratefully received

You can't go back more than 6 years.

On all my requests for statements , I have changed the 'last six years' to from when I first opened my account, (appears twice on the template). Have got statements and/or list of charges going back 10 years. Also in the process of claiming back charges, going back ten years, - no final results yet as still ongoing.- Will post when there is. So giving it a try anyway0

Good evening everyone
After successful claims on bank charges and mis-sold packaged bank accounts I'm looking to now check my old credit cards.
I have no credit cards now but a few years ago I had 3 main ones with capital one, MBNA and barclaycard.
I have no statements or records of account numbers. Do I just send off the template letter from MSE with missing info?
What's the likelihood the information will be enough
