Provider: Capital One
Amount Reclaimed: £354
Amount they paid:£350
Took awhile and sent 3 letters, but paid off. Got rejected at first but told them I'm not happy with their response, a week later, they offered as a gesture of goodwill equivalent to the amount I am claiming for.

Hi just joined..I had a Sainsbury's CC which I paid off and cancelled in dec 09. It had a high balance on it at one point and had the ppi as well. I seem to remember the card being 'sold' to me in the shop with the ppi box already being ticked.
I have no details of that account but would I be able to claim back on my ppi
Thanks for any help0 -
Provider: MBNA
Amount Reclaimed:£2200
Amount they paid:£2200
The story:
I had cut up my 2 credit csrds with MBNA . they were at their limit and i was struggling to repay .
I had a barclaycard too and had cut it up , they were very helpfull and stopped all interest payments allowing me to repay the debt.
MBNA however were charging me 27% interest making my monthly payment of £67 remove only £17 a month from a £2200 balance.
It was going to take me 12 years to pay off the balance at that rate .
I had been helping my family and they decided to pay me a backdated amount, which allowed me to clear my balance with MBNA.
I then discovered the credit card charges reclaiming information on this site, possibly through the radio.
I decided to try , and I began with the letter formats presented on this site .
firstly I wrote and asked for a list of all of the charges which had been applied, with a cheque for ten pounds.
then i went through all of my statements which i had kept and totalled the sum of all the charges as a check, a figure to compare their results with.
they replied with the list.
I then drafted the letter requesting a refund
they replied with an offer of £600; as a good will gesture.
I sent a reply telling them how disgusted i was with their attitude and their offer, and that I would be sending a letter of complaint to the financial ombundsman. and on advice, cashed the cheque as it had no " final settlement" mentioned in the letter.
They duly replied with an offer of a further £1600 and they sent the cheque .
So It was worth the effort .
I would advise anyone who tries this to use the threat of the ombundsman as leverage.
also not to accept gratefully the initial offer in "good will"
this corporation displayed no good will whatsoever when i was faced with a 12 year repayment .

i have received £820 from Barclaycard. I claimed for £750 and was astounded when they sent me a letter stating they would repay £820. The only draw back is they paid it into my visa account, but with xmas coming up I have used this money to purchase presents. This was a very easy process to claim, using the template letters.:j:beer:0

Provider: Virgin Credit Card (MBNA)
Amount Reclaimed: £408 + interest
Amount they paid: £408 + interest
The story: Refused to acknowledge that their charges were unfair. Asked them to have another look and they still said I wasn't going to get anything. Told me I could go to the FOS. Filled in FOS form in August and waited. Had acknowledgement from FOS they had received everything, then had a letter in the post yesterday from FOS stating that although MBNA thought their charges were fair, to avoid an investigation they would pay me all charges back. Signed form and put in post today - i'll let everyone know when it is credited.Wage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you0 -
