Where to find glass jars?

I'd just go and knock on the doors and ask nicely. Most folk would be more than delighted to pass on suitable jars especially if you reciprocated with a jar of jam or whatever. Nicer than being weird and rummaging through their recycling anyway, lol.Val.0

I know it is weird!? I might have to start asking and then give them some stuff....I am becoming obbsessed with jams/conserves/chutney making!!Love reading the oldstyle board...always something to learn!0

My neighbours are happy to collect empty jars for me on the condition that they get a full one back every now and then!!0

How well do you know your neighbours ? I have only lived on my street a month and I wonder if they will think I am weird- it is London and people here do not talk....Love reading the oldstyle board...always something to learn!0

I don't really know them well apart from saying hi in the street and asking for their jam jars! I broached the subject when a couple of them were putting their recycling bins out and initially they did look at me like I had asked for kidney but when I explained they were really helpful. I have lived here for a while but rarely see the neighbours to be honest.0
