I'd just go and knock on the doors and ask nicely. Most folk would be more than delighted to pass on suitable jars especially if you reciprocated with a jar of jam or whatever. Nicer than being weird and rummaging through their recycling anyway, lol.Val.0

My neighbours are happy to collect empty jars for me on the condition that they get a full one back every now and then!!0

I don't really know them well apart from saying hi in the street and asking for their jam jars! I broached the subject when a couple of them were putting their recycling bins out and initially they did look at me like I had asked for kidney but when I explained they were really helpful. I have lived here for a while but rarely see the neighbours to be honest.0
