Had an email telling me I have won a £100 Amazon voucher, filled in a survey from my energy supplier, must have been a boring day, will keep bulk toward Christmas pressies, every little helps.

It certainly does and such a nice surprise for you! :j

Total spend for Week 1 has been £24.39 so well below the week's allowance, and x4 NSDs. :):) Next week should also be a low spend as there's lots in the freezer/cupboards to make meals with.

Will be going to Sainsbobs tomorrow for butter, onions and teabags and yes, I will be pootling around to see if there are any bargains to be had, but only if it's things I really can use. :D

    Frugalling onwards. ;)

  • Went shopping today to buy bits and pieces of make up and things I really needed. They have been on my list for a while and I was REALLY running low on most of it. Still I didn't get a lot since I mostly buy cruelty free things.

So for this week we have 16,68 € so far.

Bought a mascara where the sign said 3,05 € and it came down to 3,85 € Saw it too late unfortunately...

I spent a little more than I expected at the county town market yesterday; £10.49 in total, on raspberries, blueberries, avocados, bananas, a roasted gammon hock and - get this! an entire box of strawberries. That's 20 punnets, for £2! They were beginning to "go over" and needed picking through, but there were just a few in each punnet that weren't usable, and my chickens have disposed of those. We now have 11 large pots of strawberry jam and my porch smells wonderful; all 6 trays of the dehydrator are full of strawberry slices. I gave 4 punnets away, and we still have a few in the fridge.

If only I could deal with a large carrier bag full of very stringy runner beans as easily!

Yesterday I made a vegan frittata using chickpea flour, some left over cooked potatoes, 2 small onions and some nutritional yeast in my multi cooker, used white rice setting. Had with fine beans, half a tin of beans and a smidge of vegan pesto. Will have the same today but with more veg.

That sounds lovely! I keep meaning to try something with chickpea flour - it's besan right?

Fantastic, what a lovely surprise just in time for Christmas!

Ugh, I love runner beans but it takes SO LONG to trim them if they've gone stringy! It's probably my least favourite thing to do in the kitchen!!

  • Elsiepac- I just take the edges off with a knife rather than try to de-string as such...it's really quick that way! ;)

Still eating the stuff made earlier in the week and using up current supplies so no further spending this week!

This week I spent £31.80 out of the £50 budget. I bought some things from Asda and some from Aldi. Some of the things that Aldi didn't have I knew would be cheaper in Home Bargains so I made the effort and went there too. A bit of a faff but as I can't really walk for long enough to do or carry a big shop it worked out fine. I do have another £20 that I budget every week for cat stuff but I carry that over for a couple of weeks and have a lot of food and litter delivered at once. That could change if I find the right kind of litter cheaper somewhere else.

It was very tempting to buy some of the goodies in Aldi simply because they weren't expensive. As I haven't been baking like I usually do I bought a 10 pack of scones for 49p (some for me, some for the freezer), a pack of ginger nuts for 25p and I bought the House Troll aged 12 a box of mini brownies for 99p.

Weekly shop done this morning in Asda. I spent £71.86, a little more than I planned as took advantage of a couple of multi buys on bread rolls and dog food that I would have had to buy again this month anyway and we had run out of all the big ticket items like coffee, DW tablets and laundry capsules.

I also went to Sains as well as Asda had none of DH beer left (that's him failed on Go Sober for October) or any onion granules and I couldn't find his favourite snack in Asda. £7.50 spent there.

I am now on £79.36 for 2 weeks out of an original budget of £100/week and a reduced budget of £70/week as we are so skint this month. Total is £147.49/£500/£350 to date.

DH will probably have some more beers tomorrow but apart from that I'm hoping not to spend anything else until next Friday and next week's shop needs to be low.

Another £64 gone at the market this morning, which bought me 2 lots of fish, a pork joint, sausages, bacon, cheese, cream, quantities of fruit & veg, bread and rather a lot of buns - friends expected for a cuppa later! - which should do us all week, probably with the odd top-up of F&V. The bulk-buy purse is also taking a small hit today, but I think I'm just into a new year on that one, so will account for that later.

That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
