Once again i was shattered yesterday.

After i came off here i didnt relax till gone 2.30pm!

I deep-cleaned the kitchen while doing laundry till 11.30

Went to shop for cooking oil - decided to make fish and chips - dont often fry stuff, but we;re down to the v.basics in terms of nourishment now!!
Hung clothes out to dry at about 1pm then fed DS and OH, made pancakes with remaining batter, then put DS down for nap. Finally sat down at half-past 2. Needless to say; shattered!!

I left the washing out overnight. Accidentallly. Now its drizzling this a.m. so still out there. Quite windy so i'm hoping that once it stops i'll leave it abit longer before putting the necessary items into the drier  only for a few mins tho. DSs completely out of clothes now..

Just been watching celebrity Wife Swap. Reduced me to tears. Not because Les was crying, but because it was an exact situation that OH and I are in. The Wife does everything round the house; the man does diddly squat. Even when its time for him to get involved with the kids; the man is disinterested.
Todays Wife Swap made me realise how I dont wanna grow old with OH and end up like those two. Cos we will otherwise...

    Was paid early!!
Havent let onto OH otherwise he'll be [STRIKE]asking [/STRIKE]demanding handouts. I was naughty though and went to Hennes and spent £30 !! I had a voucher for a tenner off jeans, which were £30 full price! The rest was bits for DS from the sale. This is the first time in my life I have ever bought a decent pair of jeans. :j I also had 2 coupons for free vitamins - so i used those in boots - and have 2 lots of vitamins now that cost me nowt!! Also had a coupon for a free muffin - so that was my brekkie!

I started the monthly food shop as well, and have so far spent roughly £53 in supermarket and butchers. I usually budget roughly £100/month. I'll head to the market in a few mins for fruit and veg as usual; then Aldi next week.

I also spent £7.50 in Boots on toothpaste, deo etc. I treated myself to a foot treatment by 'Soap and Glory'; which was a fiver  ; but i earnt 200 points. I shall be treating myself to a hair product in a few weeks - using my points. Soap and Glory have this lotion called "The Righteous Butter" that i started using at Xmas time. Its a tenner so i couldnt afford it, but saved up my points for it. Due to its expense i use it sparingly, and have now discovered that OH has been helping himself - generously. This really irritates me something rotten. So i have decided that i shall hide it somewhere he cant find it.
He does that with my shower gel too (and DSs too??!) . I get p*d off because he doesnt economise, and always uses it in excess - so i have deliberately starting buying ones that have a 'feminine' smell to them eg rose etc - to try and deter him - but even that doesnt stop him... This is prob because in the distant past (when we were all loved up), i would buy him all sorts of nice creams, potions, lotions for men but obviously that came to an end. He seems to have no incentive whatsoever to Buy His Own so starts using mine. URRRR!!!! So this morning, after planning a long bath before i head into work; i have discovered we've no shower gel; bath soap; nothing. Any ideas on how to combat this problem? In the past when i've pointed out that he might wanna Buy His Own instead of using up mine and DSs, his response is that he doesn't 'have the time'. Meaning "you have the time - part timer - you buy it"

The other good thing about being paid early is that i can sort out bill paying etc using on-line banking so i know where I am sooner rather than later. I know this month is going to be tight anyway - which means no overpayments where i would have wished - especially since i'm going to be paying Council Tax of £200 / month..

I best head off to the market now..

  • I would buy a basic very very cheap bar of soap and leave that in the bathroom and a basic shampoo then I would keep all my toiletries in a toiletry bag and take it in the bathroom only when I needed it. If he hasn'y got time to buy his own toiletries ask him for the money and only then will you go and buy it.
    Good luck

Bartgirl just wanted to say i have read your diary and i am amazed at your strength.

I have left two useless partners in the past although nothing what you are enduring. I did 'moonlight flits' with money id stashed and never regretted it.

Im have now been with my husband for 15 years and married for 5 but still feel the need to have my 'hidden accout' just in case.

I dont think you should keep hanging on. Get out of that damaging environment as soon as you can for yourself and your son. You only need your deposit and months rent and everything else will come in time.

    I wish you well.

Whooo, I'd be so annoyed if my OH plays that trick on me time and time again. I'd definately do what Keeping Motivated said to do, hehe!
