    Food - running total £351.90/ £450.

    Eating up/ using up stuff - yep. Lunch was a couple of tbsp. of taco mince lurking in the freezer in 2 slightly broken taco shells with salad :) Dinner - found some burgers in the freezer left from summer bbqs, so had those in HM rolls with salad :) Have also been eking out the guinea pig veggies with some of the huge, luscious dandelion leaves from the garden!:o:p

    Social life - None.

    Exercise - New week 0/3. Did go for a walk to pick blackberries, but it wasn't exactly at a pace!

    Beauty - £4.73/ £10

    Time for self - Still really tired. But did watch 2 episodes of a programme I really like whilst ironing and sewing today.

    Heating off - yep. Even got washing line dried today - day started out foggy and the forecast was mist and cloud, but the sun burned through and it was lovely and sunny in the end :T

    Gratitudes:

    * line dried washing
    * really scrummy burgers for dinner
    * paracetamol :(

  • Grateful today for my counsellor, for being recovered enough to walk up that hill afterwards, for a nice chat with dd's Head, for getting the lawn mown, for dh getting out and putting away the mower for me, for visiting another sch (one I really did not expect to find anything much positive in, and being rather totally wrong), for using our 6 off 40 voucher in sainz, for a warm day, for dd still wanting to go on the pack weekend away.

    Day 26/30
    Not checked in for a few days as I have been on holiday, just camping which was prebooked, but extra spends on food and fuel have been incurred :o
    I have overspent on my groceries budget (for my 'rules' this means everything bought as part of the regular shop, pet food, toiletries, cleaning products etc as well as food) and am going to be woefully short on SFDs.... and we are going away AGAIN at the weekend. This will involve a few food bits and a day out to pay for, but nothing drastic.
    OH has now paid his annual golf club fees :eek::eek: which was my reason really for joining this challenge. Although it hasn't been a great success for various reasons (I usually do much better for SFDs and grocery shopping, and don't go on holiday every month) it has provided a helpful focus, and I will certainly join again next month :)

    Apart from that:
    No heating, though I will probably need to put the radiator on in the airing cupboard tomorrow to air all the post holiday washing mountain.
    No social spends
    Exercise - managed a couple of miles brisk walking to the post office and back with my ebay parcels and RM surveys items :)
    Eating up / using up: Used bits left over from holiday for lunch, chicken from freezer with salad bits for dinner. We rarely waste anything here :)

  • Yes, I am running October. Not had a bolt of inspiration yet, may have to walk round the library (Tracy Beaker?). Promise not to make you be any manner of small mammals.

    Well, I have made a difference today but there is still so much to do. I can nearly see some clear surfaces and things have stoppe cascading onto the floor every time I take a step. I am back to making card toppers (half step of sticking thin paper cut outs (flowers, butterflies, hearts bat also kitchenalia, cupcakes, dressmaking supplies) onto pieces of card - it is helping because I have less small pieces of card (currently using backs of mum's birthday cards) and all the tiny bits are visible and not cluttering every corner. Have also sorted out 'greetings' - pictures with 'happy Birthday' etc written on them.

    I must pack for tomorrow ie-
    1 All mum's shopping repacked into strong bags for life so that we can pick it up on the back from her foot appointment.

    2 Whatever stuff I am taking to crafts - would like to do some samples of things to make. May go straight from mum's to crafts so need to atke it with me.

    3 Meeting DS1 in Manchester after 5pm. I have already decanted all his parcels from the packaging they came in but still need to repack into the large old rucksack (so DS1 can take it home with him).

    Need to write a list as I have another couple of errands to fit in (1 at the doctors, one in Manchester) and have a think about food and drink (what I can take and what I can carry - might be water only for the Manchester trip).

    Today I am grateful for making progress, for good drying weather and my ability to amke something creative/ useful from junk.
    My mission in life is not only to survive,but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Another spend day yesterday so still on 8/18

    Lots of me time yesterday - had a good catch up lunch with a friend I've not seen for ages, run with another friend and watched the bake off :)

    Heating went on for a short while this morning as clothes I washed on Monday were still nowhere near dry so on for 30 mins just to hurry it along.
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.8.25 - £106,362.86
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £3.33/£50
    Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.98
  • I've got to say the biggest thing this challenge has given me is the "time for myself" each day. t's been a revelation :) yesterday I had a long soak in the bath and gave myself a facial while listening to my new audio book :) Today I'm meeting with friends for dinner. I've socialised much more than usual this month, but kept a strict budget which has been lovely :)

    More of this for October I think!
