I think I'm the only one that didn't sign up to that challenge and I've been really good, I'm staying off of it!

I cooked the dinner I had planned and worked out it cost about £1 for the two of us and it was lovely, not terribly healthy but made a nice change.

The dishwasher tablets had run out and they are £6 a box in the local place  so I decided to do my 'big' shop in person tonight. I'm ama ed at how many things now I can think 'nope, they always have that YS' or 'don't need them, have grown my own' to and I bought own brands of stuff even when branded was on offer because it's still another 25p or whatever in my pocket.

I just tried to apply for another Mr S job and now I have failed the common sense test that I must have passed before, it's not meant to be. Two of the pubs on the river are looking for staff, I will put on some slap and go to both tomorrow night to ask but I'm not hopeful. When exactly did I get old and fat? I'm pretty sure it was long before I actually noticed and I've been walking around in blissful ignorance for years.

Morning :) whoop weekend :j No work till Tuesday :D From Tuesday my working pattern changes so I'll work 3 shorter days so I can pick up madam (instead of 2 1 week and 3 the next). Thanks for the advice over the work situ. I composed an email to say I didn't agree the minutes of the meeting were a reflection of the meeting but kept it as a draft (I'm such a wimp when it comes to conflict these days :() at the end of the day she called me for something else and at the end of the conversation said she was happy to remove what I'd asked. So that's that done, I think....

We're off to a festival this morning, but I have loads to do!

    * [STRIKE]Pack - not really much to do as it's only over night[/STRIKE]
    * big breakfast of pancakes to fill up before heading out ;) (oh & madam)
    * lovely fresh strawberries & raspberries with yogurt for me :j My raspberry plants are really starting to fruit now. Can see in a couple of weeks we'll have more raspberries than I can eat!
*[STRIKE] cook pastries for our lunch :money: [/STRIKE]
    * take up pair of jeans got for madam in a cs ;)
    * [STRIKE]tidy & clean round.[/STRIKE] I want tomorrow evening to be a very chilled affair for madam to get her in a good head space for school on Monday
    * [STRIKE]get a pot of spag out of freezer to defrost in fridge for oh & madam[/STRIKE] also got stewed apples to make a crumble
    * [STRIKE]slice and freeze some runner beans picked yesterday. Divvy some up to give my neighbours and a friend ;)[/STRIKE]

Ok that's all - plan is we're taking our own drinks, B/L and snacks but will buy something for tea at the festival :D Looking forward to dancing the day and evening away and catching up with friends (festival in localish area so will see lots of people I know :D)

    Have a lovely w/e guys :A

Oh and FVD I've seen your picture, you are neither fat nor old so give it up and stop talking smack about one of my gang! :rotfl:

    Enjoy the festival DNMS

Small having cheapie porridge for breakfast, so all good there. I've committed to myself to eat the frozen bananas in the freezer ( and there's a lot :rotfl:) for breakfast in smoothies to use them up as I really am not keen on banana cake so not much else to do with it. I'll see how long it lasts. I picked some cherries off my mates teee yesterday so I'll chuck them in ;) other things today:

Set some blackberries to macerate for another bottle of creme de mure
Pop to shop for white wine vinegar, I read recipe wrong and bought white vinegar yesterday to make some mango chutney to use up big bag in freezer, have rest of ingredients and jar
Make packed lunch for smalls to take to dancing, DH is working overtime :T so I'll have them both for both classes. Will go out for a walk in between (not enough time to come home and eat lunch and get back)
Make a cake or biscuits of some sort
    Tea from stores
    Knitting tonight :T
Take last 2 doors of wardrobe, which means I can then remove wardrobe, just one box to take out now.
    Quick shower, hair dry naturally

Right must get on to do some more job and have another coffee :coffee: enjoy the sunshine

    Morning all :)
Today we are going to a little free festival about 10 minutes walk away, DD2 and little GD are coming as well. It has foodie elements, so I have earmarked a little spending money for treats to bring home, and for GD to have a ride on one of the fairground things :)The main foodie bit is actually tomorrow, so spent only £2 on a merry go round ride for GD. It was a nice morning, came back here for a lateish lunch :)

    Other things -
HG berries with Lidls muesli and yogurt for breakfast :) Lidls sugar free muesli is loads better than Alp*n, for future reference, and about half the price :D
Quick tidy round Done, but needs doing again now
Need to buy some milk Done, went to corner shop, not much temptation there (unless your thing is every conceivable kind and colour of lottery ticket :rotfl:)
Come back here for lunch, to avoid paying £5 each or whatever for something at the festival. I have nice home cooked ham and HG salads for sandwiches. Also scones and apple crumble I made yesterday, so no need! Done
Bolognese out of the freezer, I will use it to make up a lasagne later :)Done
Anything that needs doing in the garden Just a bit of watering
Neighbour from opposite came round with 2 nice yellow courgettes, very welcome as mine have not been great this year!
Look for surveys later None so far
See if OH wants a hand to finish painting the garage door - he did most of it and the gable end yesterday and it looks great :)He finished it this morning, good news is he only needed 1 tin of metal paint for the door, so the other can go back to B&Q, and £17.03 can go back on his card :D
    Happy Saturday everybody :)

DNM you have inspired me, pancakes for breakfast is an awesome idea :T

Reading all your posts are keeping MS in my head. :A I would really like a laid back Christmas and there are a few things Im ahead of budget for if I am not tempted to the dark side of shiney things.

    Plan for today-
Pancakes for breakfast - thanks DNM
    Pay cheque in for somebody
Take LOs out somewhere free with English Heritage
Buy milk- buy nothing else ;)
Sort through old toys and garden toys to prep for LOs birthday
    Bake banana bread 🍞
Meal plan for next week :D

Hopr everyone has a fab weekend xx
  • I'm out this afternoon to a friend's surprise 60th-her actual party is next Saturday but this is a little gathering organised by her daughter with someone coming to do some beauty treatments etc.. I'll take a bit of cash with me but v unlikely to have anything done due to allergies etc.. Should be a nice afternoon though. I have a bottle of Dutch Gin for her present that we got at the airport last week.
Ive got some rice cooked already for part of our evening meal and going to get most of rest started so v little to do when we get back-incase I'm worse for wear!
Getting washing on in minute and hanging out before we go, think that's all for today...
Hope we all have a good weekend x

FvD - as DNMS says you are neither fat nor old. Get the slap on, get down there and bag that job! Good luck.
I don't have too many plans for the day ahead to be honest. The weather looks good (but I said this yesterday and it rained heavily later). I think it will be best if I attempt hibernation for the day after my spends of yesterday. :p
Bestie will be over for coffee and a catch up in a while, and I have to sort out delivery of the new sofa and disposal of the old one.
Got my letter this morning confirming my promotion at work so happy days :T

Morning all, very envious of the festival goers!

The alarm went off for me to get up for the tabletop sale and I turned it off, turned over and went back to sleep only to be woken half an hour later by a furry, nuzzly black cat wanting it's breakfast.

Today will now be spent photographing stuff to try to sell on FB instead though people drive me nuts with all their faffing around. I took something down off of eBay (that had a bid) because someone local wanted to add it onto two other things she wanted and now she has changed her mind.

I have crumpets for breakfast and I'm going to do tortilla chips with chilli from the freezer for dinner. I bought some nice, on-offer cheeses (mini Camembert in a box which I might bake and blue cheese) last night and crackers so we can nibble on those for lunch.

I've just ordered some craft bits for an idea I have for a new baby card, I'm itching to get started but trying to be organised. I want to clear all the carp hanging around waiting to be sold, put up my new MDF shelf/desk so I can spread myself out in an organised fashion and then get going. I need to borrow my mum's drill unless I buy one.

I have a mountain of washing to be put away, I seem to be washing the same things again and again as the cat sleeps on them and gets them hairy again (the black and white one has all angles covered, the black hair shows up on light things while the white hair shows up on black!)

    Have a good day all!

  • Hi gang

Oooh, have fun at all your festivals and fun stuff today!

I've just ordered the parentals some new led light bulbs - they have rubbish spotlights that blow every other month at the min... Don't want them doing damage trying to change their light bulbs!!

Dad has some medals and badges to sell - says he'll half it with me if I sell them for him on ebay - really cba. :o Completed listings don't look too promising... Mum has some 50ps worth £2.75 (beatrix potter collection) so might sell them for her though... Guess that probably means I'll need to at least try to sell something for dad too so I don't look like I'm picking a favourite :rotfl:
I'm going to visit a pal and her new baby later :smileyhea
Then there is a food festival nearby so we'll head there later too. Hurrah for the fun money category!

FVD ya gorgeous laydeeee you - I'm wif ya sista on the no challenges front! :D I like this thread because it only focuses on the positives - you don't need to feel bad when you slip up etc. :p

Crikey - got my 8-year badge. How different life was when I first signed up!!
