Hello to all you lovely folks,
Another one reining in the spends for September - except that DH wants to go away for the weekend. If I book it today it won't count, will it ?:p

    Anyhow today's plan is :-
    • Check banks
    • NSD
    • See about transferring DH's pensions & payments to a new account
    • See about moving his d/ds to the account that has all the other d/ds coming out of it (I've only been asking for this to be done for.......years)
    • Plan what I need to do to van before our weekend away
    • Deal with a few bits of paperwork in the file (loving it already)

That's enough for the moment but I hope to be back to update later

    Have a good day y'all

  • Myself and DD are at a 4 day sporting competition this weekend-both with different sports so am whizzing round making sure everything is ready, esp as we don't get back till Sunday night and the decorator and plumber are back in Monday morning.
But it will be a great time away and no spends, everything is paid for by our relative sports including a good 3 square meals a day!!
It didn't help that the stairlift decided to go on strike bank holiday Monday. One day of bum shuffling up and down the stairs was enough but was all fixed yesterday.

After all the decorating I could def do with reining in the spends Sept, Christmas stuff all bought and nearly wrapped while sales have been on throughout the year. It will just be nice to go through December without worrying about money, scrimping and saving because of the IVA-it's still not sunk in that its all over and done with, completion certificate all received.

LL- I remember once a fellow parent saying to me, wait until your daughter goes to secondary school it will speed up even faster-and it does, I cant believe she is off to uni now.
DNMS- I bet madam will enjoy going to school, hard at first more for us than for them more often than not. With DD I was proud but heartbroken and the same time.

Right off to whizz the hoover around and get things ready for the cat sitter
I know it's early but have a good weekend everyone and will be back.....on Monday!!!!

I resent making oh's lunches all the time, if I'm honest. It really bugs me where food is concerned he never thinks ahead. But then if I don't make it and be resourceful he either complains that there's nothing to eat or buys expensive stuff. It's one of the things I have to just accept about him and try to be zen, remind myself of my many faults. It's the same with shutting drawers and putting stuff away, he never does it!

I know! too sad, she's too young, I haven't basked in her glory enough :(

Hee hee, I know what you mean about those battles you know there's no point fighting. :D I get off pretty lightly in this house - he is defo head chef and is good at making stuff that will make good leftovers but would never think of making a sandwich or eating something boring like I have... I am on a mission tonight to make enough for lunch for Thursday and Friday too - let's see how I go..!

Next on the list is an online Tesco shop tonight.

    Night all!

Work for me today. I intend to be super efficient! From next week I will be working 3 x 6hr days so really need to getting to work, working and leaving so I can pick up madam on time :D Interestingly though when France reduced it's national working week productivity rose. * packed lunches already made :A
    * make the courgette cake! And make tiffin to take away to the festival

    * madam will have dinner at cm's
    * pack clothes for festival

    Morning all :hello:

Hope the dog survived Dawn :rotfl: who got more wet?

Yes la e just but the yogurts and freeze, get them out in the morning and put in a normal lunch box and they defrost by lunch, keep everything cold and mean you don't need an ice block thing. I usually get the stick ones (either ys or on offer)

Good start to the day, my last fleabay sale means I have hit my £3.65 minus 1p every day target for the year already (were 66% done of the year) so I've saved £667.95. I have paid this to my LPDF :T will now start paying my extras to the LPDF anyway, but was good to have a target and will do the same next year.

    Checked banking - done
    Check surveys and FPL
Meals from stores, chicken enchiladas tonight, using OOD refined beans I found in the garage :o
WFH as DD on half day, do something with her this afternoon, probably involve cake :rotfl: I'm thinking we could make carrot cake.
Think I'll need to do some washing and dry inside if need be, weather looks a bit ropey
Walk with friend tonight for free exercise

There must be more things, maybe it's too early :rotfl: back later. Purps.

All seemed pretty wet when I got back PF :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Plans today include a visit to the next town to go to the market, look round charity shops etc.
    Also:
    Walked dog
A bit more sorting out in the garden - a freecycler came for some of my hundreds of strawberry plants yesterday, and hopefully another will come tomorrow morning. Some more of the tomato plants need to go, and general tidying up to be done. Cleared 2 more tomato plants, first having picked off all the tomatoes; picked tomatoes from other plants, picked French beans, blueberries, raspberries and loads of spinach, watered everything that needed it. Found 2 more cucumbers, the plants were obviously concerned that my cucumber pile is diminishing :rotfl:
Ironing :( - didn't get done yesterday :oI have the ironing board out....
Make some scones - this didn't either! Didn't get to this :(
HM meals Done, made a big tray of roasted veg (potatoes, carrots, courgettes, peppers, little onions, tomatoes) for dinner, had French beans and slices of ham with it. Used up some bendy veg that had been in the fridge a while!
Made a batch of roasted tomato sauce, somehow managed to squeeze it into the freezer - I literally have no space left :eek:
Cooked up a bagful of apples that OH was gifted by a golfing pal - not sure what I am going to do with these - in the fridge for now, will think about it tomorrow!
    Check banks Done
Check for surveys Just a few for onepoll so far today
Some cleaning :(Hoovered the dining room and stairs, put hoover away :)
    Better get that iron out!

Back from the market now, only bought bananas and mushrooms plus a couple of bits to sell on from a [STRIKE] junk[/STRIKE] antique stall. Coffee to finish, then must get on!

I agree- book everything you need to now so it doesn't count :rotfl:

I have had a few things fall into place this month and had a few hundered pounds back from money owed etc, so that needs to go straight into savings for the coming months. I wasn't expecting it and therefor I don't need it- so it needs to be hidden from me asap!!

My kids are in nursery (both under 3- costs me a fortuuune) but I don;t want to wish these years away as everyone tells me it goes so quickly. DS birthday next month, and I have spent more than usual but got my parents and siblings to chip in, to get him something he really wants rather than more plastic toys because it looks like Toys R us at home. He has a fantastic climbing frame coming, but I am hoping he will get plenty of use from it, and plus they can share it (have I justifed it enough yet :money:)

Afternoon all, funny old day today, I can't wait for tomorrow as then I have a two week break, one week off and one working somewhere else before coming back here for another two weeks. I've just done my invoice for this month (they are due in while I'm away) and with the days taken off for train troubles and an interview (no word from them) I am only billing for 9.5 days. Technically my week at the other place falls in the same month but they take a bit longer to pay if I recall correctly.

I was too tired last night to do an online shop so I will need to remember to buy cat food on the way home (unless I just give them dried food? Might do that.) Ebay buyer is supposed to be coming tonight instead now and my FB buyer can't collect until Friday but she is buying a couple of things off me so all is good :)

DS got paid for his weeks at his last job and paid for and cooked fajitas last night so I had to quickly freeze the leftover chicken that I was planning to use for a roast. Maybe tonight depending on what there is in the YS fridge.

Talking of which, there was a bit of a fracas there the other night, the boyfriend of one of the young girls there caused a scene and the duty manager got between them and he hit him and another customer  who then threw him to the floor. I arrived just in time to see the boyfriend standing on tiptoe squaring up to the 6'4" duty manager :rotfl:
