Right today I need to gut this house from top to bottom while DH watches the boys, he is away for a while soon so I need to be organised. But at least I can save while he is away. I need to look through my present cupboard and have a stock take for Christmas and look at what else I need to buy and get our coats and boots sorted .0

Morning
we're at home! Didn't stay at the festival last night in the end. Madam wasn't herself so that was quite hard work and it wasn't what we had expected it would be (a bit too much of a hippy affair even by our standards!) Came home about 9. Going back today for the day, pack tent and come home for tea time

Morning all
Bit bleary eyed, as we got up early for the car boots - they weren't very good today, probably because of the weather (rainy and forecast for most of the day), but I did get a decent crate for the dog for the car for £5 and a few bits to sell on.
Other stuff today:
Managed to walk dog before it actually started raining. He wasn't keen, despite the lack of rain, as there are a few leaves falling already, and a leaf on his fur definitely precludes walking :rotfl:
Might wander down to the local festival again to see what is going on today, despite the weather - it is free after all!
HM meals, bits to use up for lunch and chicken pieces from freezer for dinner
Pick cucumbers again, as I see some lurking
Water French beans - they are in big pots and the rain is never enough for them. My neighbours will think I am bonkers standing out there in the rain with a watering can, but nothing new there :rotfl:
Start a shopping list, though I probably won't go till Tuesday
Do some housework
OK, coffee to finish then I must get on!0 -
Dawn I picked 2 cucumbers today, 2 Friday and can see there are at least another 11 I am going to harvest - lots more babies but don't know if there'll grow before the weather turns.
Picked more runner beans - gave Friday's kilo away! - a few french beans, sweetcorn, apples, 2 courgettes and a handful of raspberries.
First time in a about 6 weeks I haven't come back with strawberriesDF as at 30/12/16

Lauren, talk of winter coats and boots makes me feel all warm and fuzzy
Dawn, I hope you aren't one of those dealers that starts rummaging through stuff before you've even had a chance to get it out of the car
I did a boot sale this morning (can you tell??!) and made £45 profit after the pitch fee, not a fortune but very welcome. I packed up at 10.30 though as everything I had left I know I will get more for on eBay. I also dropped a few bits to the charity shop.
I too have two cucumbers ready for picking though I planted it in way too small a pot and it dries out really easily. The courgettes are for the chop today, they are still producing but they are tiny and prone to rotting. The last four tiny ones I will cook for dinner tonight (anchovy spaghetti.)
Off now to have a tidy of the garden store to revel in how much extra space I (hopefully!) have!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
No FVD, I do boot sales sometimes and I don't like that either0

Hi everyone :coffee:
I've had a busy old day today - trying to keep my mind off going back to work tomorrow.
I was up and at Ik3a for it opening at 11am, just by chance rather than good planning. I have managed to get some feet for the new sofa so it's not wonky any more, and also got a few essentials (we were down to 3 tea plates) and a few non essentials (but I really did want a new lampshade for my bedroom).
Then went to Mr M for the weekly shop - £43 and I'm as well prepared as I ever get for going back to school. I got some hummus pots reduced to 9p which will serve me well for lunches.
Still to come - bit of tidying, shower, early night. Thrilling eh?Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi all,
Lots of food picking been going on here too. Cucumbers finished a few weeks ago thanks to red spider mite so those plants have been chucked, but am still picking tomatoes, peppers, chillies,, courgettes, basil & rocket. The french beans have massively slowed down & I did think about pulling the plants up & composting but I've noticed there are several new flowers now coming, so will leave them for a while longer. The guatemalan blue squash plants have been interesting to grow......lots of small fruitlets are rotting because they haven't pollinated properly but I have spotted a nice big squash growing nicely so hope it continues, as I don't usually have the success with autumn/winter squashes that I do with the summer ones, so this big torpedo-shaped one looks promising. Sweetcorn cobs forming nicely but not ready to pick for a while yet. Meanwhile we are inundated with pears. Have picked a load to bring indoors for ripening - enough on the tree to make jam, chutney, muffins, maybe BBQ sauce, etc. Any others will be eaten as fresh fruit & made into compote for porridge.
OK, better go & check in with September Scrimpy Challenge.
