Today's list:-
[STRIKE]Smoke alarm
Dust bedroom/cobwebs (vacced and changed bed yesterday)
Clear floordrobe
Go through my knicker drawer (but I'm not going to a thong for a duster - old big knickers tho' )
Clean bedroom window
Towels wash
[/STRIKE]30 mins ironing
I've noticed that too, pigpen - but how come only the junk and gibble multiplies? Why don't tenners do it?
Just the ironing to do now - think I'll have some lunch first - I've got some lush walnut bread from Marks (it's the only thing of theirs that I can't find elsewhere). Have you got a recipe for walnut bread pigpen? You seem to be the resident OS DeliaI'd rather be watching CSI!0 -
Walnut Bread
- 400g Strong White Flour
- 100g Dark Rye Flour
- 10g (Fresh) Yeast - I used dried
- 10g Salt
- 350g Water - weighing is more accurate
- 200g shelled and crushed walnuts

I'm bored!
I can't even go out cos sofa man is coming in the afternoon.
:coffee: to get some energy, Dad is still in recovery after his op, I'm thinking that I should make him up a box with some shower gel and what not... he will be allowed to shower won't he? He will be in for a few days. yeah course they will, he will smell!
Going to do PC desk and bathroom today instead of master bedroom, just can't face it!0 -
They might not let him shower but he will have to wash otherwise he'll kill off the nurses!! so smellies will be necessary.. and pj's!!!!!!!!!! Don't want him naked any more than smelly!!
My mother just rang she had one of her mutts at the vet this morning cos she is old (she is 18) and sooo skinny.. turns out she has cancer in her colon & bowel so is basically slowly starving something she isn't aware of thankfully!!! so she is on borrowed time. My mother got her when my gran was too ill to look after he and my gran died almost 3 years ago.. wouldn't it be wierd if she died the same date as my gran did.. obviously she is one of the few links to my gran my mother has so she is really upset.. pub then!! The things I endure!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Boy am I in a frugal mood today :rotfl: I've just turned a gardencane, some ribbon, wool & a bath sheet into a blind for the bathroom window and then two pairs of OHs old work trousers and other old (stained so would normally go in the bin rather than charity or ebay) clothing made into two draught excluders for the front & back door
:D Best thing is that since they're trousers they're really THICK draughtexcluders as well, none of these "tights" ones like my nanna used to have - they may not look like you could buy them in Argos but they're weighty and I can add to them as we get clothing we can't use anymore
:T
Now I just need to sort out my sewing box :rolleyes:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

I've sorted out the childrens underwear!! Instead of 2 BURSTING bags I now have 2 half bags which are MUCH neater!!! I have a big stuff carrier for nursery spares and a bag full for recycling!!
Unless anyone wants a bag of clean but worn boys boxers age 9-11 ish??
I have a few tesco days out vouchers if anyone wants those as well?? Think I have 3..

Right.. off to collect the gremlins I go.. I have a cheque to bank on the way so need to go 2 mintues earlier and see if I can get there on time for the first time this week!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Walnut bread sounds delish - thanks pigpen - will put ingredients on next shopping list - that sounds like a magic purse - mine only breeds pennies and receipts
taimai - could you put in some baby wipes? That way if your dad can't get wet, at least he can get clean.
Better get on with this ironing - it won't go away on its own and I've got to drive 12 miles to babysit my niece soon - time to crack onI'd rather be watching CSI!0 -

Swap your purse for my erm....child?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Right, I can now close my sewing basket again, I've hoovered through and tided up, Just repainted my nails with anti-peeling stuff and it's nearly time for me to go and collect DD. Just wondering about popping into the Co-op for some eggs so I can do some more baking while the oven is on  I'll see how I feel come 3pm when I would have to leave :rotfl::rotfl:
Think I might offer DD an apple when she gets in - she has another loose tooth and her and OH spent ages sitting there wobbling it and spelling words out _pale_ I can't stand another night of that!
Anyone else on here on facebook and fancy being my friend?PM me and I'll tell you how to find me
:rotfl:
