  • Morning all

Just caught up with the thread - hugs to all poorly flyladies or with sicky kids.
Pigpen have you tried looking on Learndirect? They've got loads of courses and if you sign up via Learndirect centres a lot of them are government funded - if you just need proof of being able to study, I'm sure you'd be able to find something interesting.

Did all my list yesterday :j - the house is looking cleaner already and because it's a group goal, it's that kick up the bum I needed so thanks everyone.

    Today's list:-
    Smoke alarm
Dust bedroom/cobwebs (vacced and changed bed yesterday)
    Clear floordrobe
Go through my knicker drawer (but I'm not going to a thong for a duster - old big knickers tho' )
    Clean bedroom window
    Towels wash
    30 mins ironing

Quick cuppa then off to do list
    I'd rather be watching CSI!

LG.. I have looked on learndirect.. but I can't self-motivate for more than a few weeks (though I did do a diploma in child psychology a few years ago).. hence me being here.. Plus I crave social interaction so would prefer to be out.. I could use the last 4 years doing dressmaking really but can't do uni yet as Tiddles is still at home.. she will be at full time nursery from January 2009.

  • Half hour challenged myself and I filed a months worth of paperwork, got into the groove and hoiked out everything from under the spare bed. I now have 3 charity bags, one bin bag of really bad stuff, some new dusters and a tidy under bed.. Phew..
Lunch is HM mushroom soup (I think) from the freezer. I love mushrooms but they're not too fond of me so I can only eat them if I know I haven't got company iminently. Same goes for Quorn. I'll leave you with that then...

  • Know what you mean pigpen about self motivation - I found it much easier to do a Spanish course when it was meeting up once a week than the one I've just done with the OU. I liked the course, but I felt I needed the weekly deadline of a class to get the most out of learning (and of course the socialising down the pub or over a chinese helped!) - it's somehow not the same not seeing people. That's probably why this thread works so well.

No flying done today, and none of my 'after kids are in bed' stuff done last night either.

My Dad had a bad accident while horse riding and I was up at A&E all night. He has a compound fracture (broken leg and the bone is sticking through) so is having surgery as we speak to clean it out and have a pin put in there.

My jaw hurts! and not for the reason I was giving yesterday! It's not my tooth, feels like maybe a gland or something, but damn it hurts.

Sofa man is coming today so will have to tidy up a bit, went back to bed this morning with DS2. What are we doing today anyway?
  • Double ouch tiamai, that sounds painful- hope you and your dad are soon on mend.

I always knew horses were lethal - two of my friends have had horse related incidents - one a compound fracture of the wrist and the other had her middle finger chomped in half!

I've listed a few more bits on ebay so now I'm off upstairs with a cuppa and a roll of binbags.. I WILL find floor up there.. and have another bag for charity shop to fling.. I can't believe there is still stuff in this house after all the flinging I've done the last few years!!! Does it breed???
